Great golf, nice hotel, beautiful surroundings.
My wife and I met 3 other couples here, and played golf for 3 days. The first night we stayed in the hotel, the next 2 nights we rented a condo. On the night we stayed in the hotel we had dinner at a local restaurant. The hotel is being renovated. We were out playing golf most of the day and didn’t hear any construction noise. The hotel is clean, well maintained and has a friendly staff.
The golf is great !

Room Tip: Prefer 3rd floor with nice views

We stayed in the time share part of the resort (Worldmark by Wyndham), and not in The Lodge. We are owners of the time share.

The staff upon check in created a packet of events, amenities, and hours. We were there the last week of March and everything seemed to be open. Every staff member we encountered were friendly, welcoming, and genuine. The Market has a great selection of food and wine, and the apartments have a well stocked kitchen to prepare your meals. Each unit has an outdoor patio which you can eat outside or even better--grill! Each unit has a BBQ, too!

The beds were mighty comfortable. We made use of the indoor pools and hot tubs. The kind staff at the Spa will loan you a lock while they hold your room key. There are showers there as well as a well stocked fitness center complete with cardio equipment, free weights, and weight machines. In the calendar, it indicates which fitness classes are also available the week you are staying.

The resort has tennis courts, basketball courts, and a playground. It seemed very family friendly.

As far as the location, it's the beautiful outdoors--a peaceful getaway. I don't quite understand what all the gripes are about the location--if you're expecting Vegas, then go to Vegas, but don't knock this outdoor setting which you can relax and make use of the stables across the way (which we didn't), golf, or hike. If that is not for you, then don't go to Klamath Falls!!!

Lot's of potential if somebody there remembers it's called "hospitality". Dominique at the bar is the only person there that actually gives a damn about how your stay is. We went on a golf getaway for our anniversary and drove 5 hours to get there. Much to our dismay we discovered the lack of any food service at the "Resort". So after the drive, instead of relaxing we had to drive 20 minutes into town to find a restaraunt. Ahhh!

We had a suite so we were able to make breakfast prior to playing 36 holes on the GREAT course. Unfortunately, we had to change rooms to a "King Executive"(Basically a Super 8 room for $170.00 per night.) because all the suites were booked for the 2nd night of our stay. When we got back to our room after golf we couldn't open the door. We went down to the front desk and got new keys tried again but no go. Back down to the desk again and were greeted with the lovely young girl at the desk saying we were doing it wrong. Thanks sweetheart , but I've used keycards before. She then went up with us to show us how to open our door and SURPRISE...........nothing. Uh oh!

Here's the problem- they have no staff on site. It's now 9:00 at night and they have to call in maintenance from downtown. At 9:45 he came down and gave us the bad news. He can let us in but we'd have to stay in our room and call everytime we wanted to get back in we'd have to call. Let's see..... 36 holes of golf, 9:45 at night and we can't eat, can't shower, change clothes, etc. Guess it's gonna be a PBJ sandwich off the bar menu. (Yes, I'm serious)

When I checked out the following morning I asked to speak with the hotel manager and (what a shock) he/she wasn't there. But the 20 year old behind the bar was quick to tell me of her title "Front Desk Supervisor". I asked Her Highness if she was aware of our plight and she had heard that a guest had trouble with a room key but didn't know it was us. (Note-I'm checking out and she's running my bill) There was no apology or any offer to make things right. After prodding I received $30 off our bill. ($500 for 2 nights mind you)
I will never stay at any Jeld Wen property again. First and last time for me.

P.S- No WiFi but they have data cables to rent for $10 per day.

I am so sorry to hear about your poor experience. Running Y Ranch is under new management. They were purchased by the Northview Hotel Group, who has an incredible amount of experience in the hospitality field. Since your stay, the food options at Running Y have greatly increased with Wyatt's restaurant opening in the Town Center next to the Lodge. A bistro will be opening in the Lodge by the end of August.

The Lodge is finishing a $3 million renovation that is scheduled to be completed by the end of August. All the guestrooms have been completely re-done, including the addition of the bistro in the lobby.

We're glad that you enjoyed the golf course and we hope that you'll come give the new management a try.

Best regards,

Jay, Guest Services Manager

My husband needed to stay in this area on business,so we tried the Running Y. It's not like there's a ton of choices, so we took our two boys ages five and two.Other reviews were VERY accurate in describing the dearth of ANY dining options!Unless you have a suite, you are stuck w/7-11 style food. This place is in the middle of total NOWHERE.Not even pizza or burgers!Pretty setting, and the staff were very nice.A total Motel 6 style. There is no obvious management, and nothing is presented or explained. They had zero childcare recommendations,so we found a provider thru the state referral! The staff had zero suggestions.A good "rustic" experience, riding lessons, ugly pool area w/cheap towels, but if one is prepared for this(n u get a suite,n bring UR OWN WINE! U will be fine :)

If you want service you will not find it here. Food pack your own, there just isn't any place open that will serve you a meal. The last resort is the bar which is not anything to write home about. The counter "resort" staff need to to attend hospitality 101 again. Here is my point, I requested a suite and received a standard room and asked the attendant what happen and she said well get it right next time WTFO? Our family reunion was great but this place was a bummer! Tell your friends not to come to the Y, why read all of the complaints and you will understand. Guys the golf will not make up for the wife complaining about the poor service.

The Running Y is a comfortable place to stay. We had a suite with a kitchen and there is a small general store on site to stock up to make a basic meal. The resort is established around the Arnold Palmer designed golf course and the pool/spa area is kid friendly. Unfortunately, there is nothing else immediately nearby, so we had to travel 10 miles into Klamath Falls for entertainment, shopping and gas. Crater lake is an hour away and Lava Flow National Park is an hour in the opposite direction. The resort did not have a full restaurant only a bar and a bar menu. But the sandwiches were good and the drinks generous. The lobby was very nice with a big screen TV that we watched the World cup on and they had a computer with internet access. Sleep quality was not tops due to the noisy refrigerator and noisy air conditioner, but the bed was very comfortable.

We stayed at the Running Y for the OIT Alumni weekend. The price was OK, but a "lodge" just doesn't really describe this property at all. The facade looks good, but inside it's a basic motel. The restaurant is now closed in the lodge so the only source of food is some microwave bar food, IF you can get service at the bar that is.

My biggest beef is with the total lack of communication about amenities. We were there for 3 whole days and at no time did the staff (or any written information in the room) give us a clue as to the location of the pool, tennis courts or spa facility. Those things are actually located up the road from the lodge itself, but who knew? We only spotted them on our way out as we took a little drive on our own and saw them over by the time share units. Really bad business.

Pros: Clean, they have pet friendly rooms, golf course was great and they seemed to care about their customers over there.

Cons: No food to speak of, no information, and sadly we never used the pool or gym or spa since we didn't know it was there.
