I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express while in town on business. I had moved over from the Best Western to meet up with co-workers in town. I should have stayed at the Best Western.
The rooms are nicely appointed; however, the walls are paper thin. This is to be expected in a hotel, however the facility is a newer one and could have been built with this in mind. You get used to hearing the shower next door, but when you can hear the water running in the sink, telephone conversations, the clock radio and television, this is just too loud. There also seemed to be a lot of light in the room when you try to sleep. Green lights on the microwave that faces the full length mirror, making it shine throughout the room, the light coming in from under the door, the light from the clock - lots of towels were used to darken the room.
They have a nice indoor pool area, but the unfortunately the spa was out of service for my entire week's stay.
The breakfast room is clean, but I was bothered by all of the paper products used to eat on. Plastic silverware, foam plates, paper coffee cups. It seemed not only environmentally unfriendly, but low class. The food was decent, quite a few selections and a fun pancake machine. The breakfast room staff was excellent and very attentive.
Other reviews were correct in the lack of parking due to the parking lot being shared by another hotel and a Sizzler restaurant. Many times I had to park quite a way from the hotel and when going out in the morning to leave for work, it was obvious that the parking is mainly used by the Sizzler crowd, because the parking is plentiful in the morning when Sizzler is closed.
I went home for the weekend and returned to town again for work the following week but made my reservation at the Best Western Olympic Inn. I recommend it over this Holiday Inn Express.
