This Hotel went beyond the call of duty. I was injured and in the hospital, not only did they send a shuttle to pick me up but took me to the drug store and helped me settle into my room. During my stay the service was wonderful not only did the staff help me take my leftovers from meals back to my room but also got ice for me for my ice packs. I was given a great room at a discount price since I was coming out of t hospital. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Room was very comfortable. Beds were soft. The hotel staff bent over backwards to help you with anything you needed. Excellent choice

We liked this hotel a lot. We had a double room, and it was quite large and had great sound insulation. There was a refrigerator and a microwave which are great when you have kids. The free wireless internet worked great. The free breakfast was good. They even had DIY waffles which the kids liked a lot. Free coffee was available all day. Food at the restaurant was better than average for a hotel restaurant. We especially like the Creme Brulee Cheesecake. Amazing service highlight: Our daughter accidentally left her iPod in our room, and the hotel staff tracked it down when we called 6 hours after leaving and UPS'd it to us that same day.

The Shilo Inns in general would like to think of themselves in terms of "affordable excellence," according to their motto. In many ways the property is affordable and even excellent. Normal tarifs with auto club discount run $135 during high season and lower during "soft" periods. And the property is certainly impressive with its pool, small fitness center, steamroom, and proximity to convenient restaurants (Applebee's, Burger King, etc.). For breakfast, the inn offers a fine assortment of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, juicem coffee and even a waffle machine. The cookies at the front desk are warm and complimentary. The lighting in the rooms is fine, the beds very comfortable, the area spacious.

There are, however, some drawbacks. Even if the neighborhood is safe, there really isn't much of a residential area. The inn stands on a crest near the aforementioned food outlets. A car, therefore, is essential to venture out. The rooms themselves are strangely designed so that the wash basin and counter are in direct view of the beds. Someone needing to turn on the light by the sink will rudely awaken anyone else in the room. Although amenities are replaced, cleaning is a bit lax with remnants or chips by the bedside. After a subtle reminder or two, on the third day the bedside was clean.

But there is one major problem with a desk worker. Before leaving for Klamath Falls, I spoke with Loretta and requested an upper floor room with view of the lake (it is far away but there is a lake!). "I will put down this information on the comments form," she replied. When we checked in the following day, we were given a room on the second floor with a view of the dumpster. "I'm sorry; there is nothing else." I asked her to look again. "I can give you a room with the view on the third floor but it is a smoking room." We took the room and found out that it was a non-smoking room. Loretta needs further training in dealing with guests. Other staff members are indeed pleasant and efficient.

We spent three nights and used Klamath Falls as a base for exploring Crater Lake and Lava Beds National Monument. With a comfortable retreat to return to in the evening, our stay was enjoyable. Most guests will enjoy themselves well but I might suggest earplugs if they are light sleepers.

Nice hotel with very clean rooms and friendly staff. We stayed
here on a mini-tour through Oregon. Klamath Falls had a
small downtown with sprawling development around...very
simple. Good home base for visiting sites (Crater Lake and
Klamath Lake) within an hours drive. The hotel's pool was
under reconstruction which made some patrons not stay...but
as we were out alot we didn't miss it. The hotel should inform
their guests (via the website), though, ahead of time to avoid
the disappointment we saw in others at the front desk.

Location: 4 stars - Conveniently located off hwy 97, so easy to find, especially when you arrive late at night. Nice restaurants nearby. Very safe neighborhood. We strolled at around 10PM and felt secure.

Facility: 4 stars - A little dated, but aged and maintained very well. Rooms are large and clean. We stayed in 2 queen bed room with kitchenette for one night. Free parking and continental breakfast. Has a small indoor swimming pool and hot tub.

Staff: 5 stars - Check-in/out was breeze. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. When we checked out, we even receive a "Thank you" card, which was very nice. We dealt with staff from different shifts and they were all very friendly and helpful.

We roamed around Klamath falls and looked at other facilities. None looked as good, at least from outside. We would definitely stay here next time.
