My family and I needed a place to stay after relocating cross-country from New York to Eugene, Oregon, while we looked for an apartment. The hosts here were very friendly, and helped us to pick out a great site to stay at for a few days. We were a bit concerned, as we got there the weekend before July 4, and as of July 4, the whole place was booked, but the hosts there assured us that even if we had to put up our tent on their private site, we wouldn't be homeless for the 4th. Luckily for us, we did find a home and had the keys by July 3, so we didn't have to use that option, but we were very grateful for their consideration and warm welcome.
In addition to assuring us that we would not be homeless, the hosts there made sure we were well stocked with wood, and made sure the kiddos stayed cool (it was warm that week!) when we stopped by the store, their freezer was well stocked with popsicles.
The campground is a short walk from the playground/ swimming area, and a very short walk from the reservoir itself. I think our only complaint is the quarter-operated showers. 50 cents gets you about 3-5 minutes. Otherwise, the sites were very roomy, had a lot of available shade, and during the week, it was very quiet!
