This lovely B&B is in the heart of the Wallowa Valley in Joseph, OR. Its' owners: Lisa Allen and her husband Syd Montgomery, assumed ownership of this B&B a few years ago. They've turned it into a first class place to stay. The building itself is a lovely log home, visited by deer and quail, stuffed with books, a sunny nook where one can play card games, a sitting room, and, of course, your individual room with bathroom. The bed was kingsized and comfortable, loaded with pillows and a nice heavy comforter. Native American art adorned the walls.....this is the home of the Nez Perce Indian tribe and their Appaloosa horses. The breakfasts were sumptious, and Lisa and Syd take care that you get plenty to eat, as well as work around food allergies, etc. Syd can turn organic eggs into a crepe that is about as light and substantial as a cloud. He stuffs it with asparagus and ham, making it something to rave about. Great cooking, wonderful rooms, ......did I mention Lisa and Syd themselves? She's a Brit, he's retired U.S. Air Force, and together they have some wonderful stories to tell about their travels.
