Our reservation was for 5:00, just as the restaurant was opening, but they didn't really seem ready for the four of us. We ordered a bottle of wine, and all of us were delivered dirty wine glasses. When we mentioned this to our waiter, he was happy to take them away, but he didn't bring us new ones for quite a while. When we inquired about the delay, he said we'd have to wait until a load of glasses was washed in the dishwasher. As a result, we were well into our first course before we were able to taste the wine. The food was OK. The grilled romaine Caesar salad had too little dressing, but the waiter never came by for me to ask for more. He kept stopping at nearby tables, but he never checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. For entrees, two of us ordered the duck. It was good, but the portion seemed quite small. My wife ordered the chicken. It was a large portion, but she described it as an unexciting preparation. The fourth person in our party ordered a vegetarian dish, and she was happy with it. Eventually, we saw additional wait staff on duty, but the one waiter was unable to provide adequate service for the first 45 minutes of our visit to Deja Vu.

Our waiter Matt was more that professional. Prompt and courteous he helped guide our meal choices and they were fantastic. The Special Romaine salad was fantastic. My wife wants to try and recreate it at home.

We started out our vacation in Jacksonville by dining at Deja Vu our first night in town. We were seated outside on a very nice evening, and that set the tone for the rest of our stay. Our entrees were a house special of gemelli pasta with a light tomato based sauce and chicken, and a grilled portobello mushroom with brie and an apple cole slaw. The portions were just right, and the flavors were perfect for both dishes. Add excellent service and a nice wine list, and we were convinced to return the next evening! Entrees that night were prawns with firecracker noodles and coffee-dusted flat iron steak. Another home run! Recommended!

Our B&B recommended Deja Vu and it was a winner for us. Too hot to sit outside and we wanted a casual meal so we sat at the bar. We had several small plates that were terrific. The tuna tartare, lamb meatballs, lamb chops and the lightly grilled Ceasar salad were delightful. The homemade gelato and sorbets were terrific. This was a nice find on our long road trip.

My date and I had different items, just so we could sample more things, and they were all very good. We had the "Crispy Calamari with Wasabi Aioli" for an appetizer, the The “Original Grilled Romaine” (which is like a salal without a bowl), and I had the coffee rubbed steak while my date had the trio of petite beef tenders (which was delicious!).
