Review of Wings of Wonder - CLOSED

Wings of Wonder
Reviewed November 30, 2012

This was our first time to visit Wings of Wonder. The man who took us through explained the difference between butterflies and moths to us. The splendor of all the colors was just beautiful as you walk through the homes of these flying beauties. It was not uncommon for them to land on our hands or arms. My grand children ages 7 and 9 loved it. Nice place to have a picnic around the area.

It was a really nice place to visit, though a bit overpriced.

I hope that there will be other people that love butterflies enough to create places to visit like this one in the future.

Check website...Attraction closed as of June! I wanted to go with a group of seniors and the website indicated that he'd retired in June.

The kids are amazed by the number of butterflies.
The numerous types of butterflies a holds the interest of even young children. It is located in Buena Vista, 1 block from the river. The drive from Albany/Corvallis or Salem/Independence is pleasant as well.

We enjoyed our trip to Wings of Wonder. There were a very good amount and variety of butterflies. Most were from Central and South America, so learning the butterflies here doesn't translate to any identification in the area. They could have done more as far as the education regarding assisting folks within the butterfly room, for identification, talking about feeding, emergers, life cycle etc. The room is very warm (even on a cool day) which is good for the butterflies but a little hard on the humans. It's a very small operation and it's kind of wierd to go into the entrance area and see "for sale" signs on fridges in the area..
