“Good breakfast with nice view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

We arrived early and had a booth to look out the window to a good view of Mt Hood. Food was pretty good, with great pancakes and spicy skillet potatoes. As it filled, service slowed and it became almost uncomfortably noisy. Lots of hard surfaces and staff banging dishes. Food made it worth it

“Good food, great view out front windows”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

Salmon Benedict had good hollandaise, salmon was a bit too salty. My husband had eggs/garlic/basil/brie he said could have used more garlic. Hash browns were very good. Menu had a lot of good breakfast choices. Server was friendly. Parking was an issue on Sunday at 11:30 but not impossible. Overall would eat here again.

“Wonderful place for breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

The Egg River Café (formerly Egg Harbor Café) is the very best place to have breakfast in Hood River. Excellent service, great food and nice sized portions. The portions are huge, so come with an appetite. They are very busy, so get there early!!!

“Favorite breakfast place in Hood River!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

We enjoyed our breakfast so much, we went there twice. Cute little cafe that has standard breakfast fare but the secret is to order the eggs that include a side of pancakes! The waitress offered bananas or other fillings in my pancakes, free, and I couldn't believe the size of two HUGE, light & fluffy pancakes that arrived filled with fresh fruit. They were incredible and really surprising that it was included. Service was great We also ordered sandwiches to go and the waitress realized we were on our way to hike and kindly offered extra supplies to accommodate our backpacks. Just be prepared to wait. It really shouldn't take as long as it did both mornings, but the coffee was so delicious and our cups were constantly refilled, we didn't mind the wait. Also, on a clear day, be sure to look across the street as you're walking out and check out the great view of Mt. Hood. That was an added bonus!

“Friendly, though slow.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

We stopped here on our way to the Mount Hood train. We had to wait 20 minutes for our breakfast (to go order), which seemed an exorbitant amount of time for eggs and hashbrowns. The service was VERY friendly! The server cashing us out was chatty and nice. The food was okay. Typical diner food, really.
