The photos and description of the hotel were much better than the hotel itself. We had one of their better rooms. It looked like it was an old room that they tried to refurbish. Looks like they gave up in the middle of the remodel, there was an odd space with bare plumbing next to the bathroom.

Stayed at the BW Hood River Inn during our trip to Denver. Arrived late about 10:30pm and had friendly greeting. Lots of stairs to each entrance which was difficult with baggage. Room was average; 2 double beds, a little outdated.
In the morning we walked across the parking lot to Starbucks for coffee/breakfast - it is quite a busy location. The wind was unbelievable.
Room was expensive so we chose to stay on Thursday night ($130 compared to over $300 for same room Friday night). I would not pay over $150 to stay here.

The best hotel on our trip. We had dinner on the outdoor deck overlooking the water, GREAT food! The free breakfast was wonderful. Nice room, too, with a river view. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The fitness room wasn't much but they gave us a pass to a new fitness center in town which was great!
One of the beds was not comfortable but we used the other. I mentioned it at the front desk and he said they were new beds and they would check it.

We have a dog, so it's always challenging to find a balance of price and comfort. This is one of those places that accepts pets but puts you in a special "pet room". This is a "pet peeve" of mine. I understand that people have allergies, but why is it that the "pet room" always sort of smells like urine? I would no more take an incontinent or untrained dog into a motel than I would let a baby run around without a diaper, so why do I have to pay more to smell urine? 10 or 25 or 50 dollars more to let a 25 pound, clean, polite dog stay in a motel room doesn't seem right.

Anyhoo, having said all this, this is a nice Best Western, even though we did get a "dog room". The location on the Gorge is lovely.

Plus, a delicious hot breakfast in the dining room was included in the price. The restaurant is surprisingly good. We ate dinner there too. We had first-rate hamburgers and an arugula and beet salad that knocked my socks off! This was seriously fresh produce beautifully dressed.

The location complemented our itinerary of visiting the Columbia Gorge, Mt. Hood and The Dalles. Our river view room was clean and comfortable. The unexpected benefit of staying here was the superb Riverside Grill located in the motel.

My husband and grandchild (3yrs) and brother in law and sister in law and I stayed one night at the Hood River Inn, right on the Columbia River.
The room with a balcony overlooking the river was just perfect for our last day in Oregon. I wish we could have stayed there longer. The room was clean, we had a microwave and fridge which we used.
We also used the Riverside grill for both dinner and breakfast, which was also very good.

I stayed here with a friend and her parents for a wedding weekend. The hotel was nicely remodeled and very clean. The restaurant was awesome with great views of the water. The food at the restaurant was FABULOUS! Everything about this place is great, price, location, food, and service!
