We always want to return; this is such an unusual place. The view is enough to make you want to go there, but the very good food in the lovely dining room facing the river is also a huge plus. The staff seem to be polite and cheerful al the time. You never have to leave the premises for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can lie in bed all day if you want and look at the river. The internet works very well so you can conduct business. If you do decide to leave this haven there are the lovely, thundering, white waterfalls not far away to the West. You can cross the green and clanking bridge over the Columbia and drive along the Washington side from which there is a view of Mount Hood amoung other spectacular scenery. You can go swimming in the heated swimming pool but we thought it was a bit too cold, being December, but knowing that you can if you want to is nice. You can hear trains and vehicles going over the bridge if you have the widow open, but that is part of the adventure. After a while, they have a soporific effect and add new texture to your dreams. All in all, this is our favorite hotel in Oregon. Very restful escape.

Room Tip: River view is very nice.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. It reads beautifully, if you're not a travel writer, you might consider becoming one. I am pleased that you enjoyed our dining room and our "cheerful staff". We look forward to your next visit.

We've stayed here twice and have loved it. Amazing views right on the river, great staff, beautiful rooms, pet friendly.. but the best part is that they have the most comfortable mattresses. My husband & I always get the best nights sleep here. Priceless.

Life does not get much better than it is at this lively and marvellous hotel. The rooms are very well appointed, the beds are super comfortable, the bedding appears to be brand new and if you are able to get a room overlooking the river, it is perfect all together.

The young and efficient staff treat everyone very graciously. The dining room looks over the river. Birds fly around to entertain you by day, barges glide past and the hills change under the shadows and the different light. At night the lights shine on the water and there is the soundd of people happily enjoying the adjacent bar. The food is outstandingly good and reasonable.

We have never found anywhere like it and always look forward to our next trip.

Located on I-84 and a stones throw away from Washington, The Hood River Inn has become my favorite place to stay. I visit Hood River, once a week, every week, for 2-3 nights. My experiences with the staff have been outstanding. The hotels rooms are great and I have stayed in just about all the rooms they have. I would highly recommend any of the suites or the luxury suites.
Everyone is dialed in and committed to each and every person that comes through their doors. Since day one, 3 months ago, I have been able to meet and get to know just about all the staff members. The Hood River Inn is in a convenient location, close to Downtown Hood River and close to the hospital where I work. This makes it easy for me to come back to the hotel to eat at the Restaurant, where the meals are great tasting, and the desserts are delicious.
Other than the great views in Hood River, I am happy that they have a pool, hottubs, gym and sauna. Its hard to stay in shape on the road. The Best Western Hood River Inn provides all that and more.
For those traveling on the I-84 corridor, I would definitely consider a stop here. You will be treated like royalty!

Our spacious room was a 1st floor river view room with 2 queen beds in the West Building. There was a bathroom with a sink and a 2nd vanity/sink outside the bathroom. The fridge was decent size. There was also a microwave. The bed was comfortable with soft sheets. There was a desk and also a table with 2 chairs. The Wi-Fi was very good. One interesting thing in our room that I've never seen before was an easy to clean TV remote control.

Our room had a sliding glass door facing the river. Upstairs rooms in this building have decks. There is a very nice new pool & fitness center which we did not have a chance to use. Breakfast is served in the restaurant & was very good. There is a special menu for the complimentary breakfast that is different than the restaurant's regular menu. We had the oatmeal & the scramble breakfast. There might have been a wait for an outside table but we sat inside & did not have to wait.

It's about a one mile walk to "downtown". Most of the walking path into town is right along the river.

We stayed 2 nights in late September in a 2 queen river view room on the upper (third) floor in the western wing. One of the first hotels we stayed at on our trip and we ended up in Anaheim so my memory of the finer details probably not as strong as some but felt the need to recommend this hotel. Would have given it 4 1/2 stars if you can give half stars. What I thought was most impressive about the property was the pool and gym area. This was obviously very new (a map on the website had it in a different location) and located at the far east of the property overlooking the water. Great heated pool and hot tub with a small gym with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pool / river together with another indoor hot tub. We only ate breakfast at the restaurant but the food was very good. There was traffic noise as others have commented on but certainly bearable - we actually had the balcony door open at night as the room was quite warm and we're not fans of air-conditioning. Hood River itself had some charm but was set away from the river and a little different than we expected. It's a decent drive but recommend driving over to Mt. Hood and going up to Timberline Lodge - beautiful views and you can wander around with historical photos and artefacts etc.If you do, make sure you head over and get a photo of Trillum Lake with Mt. Hood in the background - equal to any other phote from our trip.

The Hood River Inn is our favorite place to stay when traveling the I-84 corridor between Oregon and Washington. The views are spectacular morning, noon, and night. It's so pleasant and the staff is super friendly. I love the piano bar and restaurant. Our last stay, I tried the Sirloin Steak--it was very tasty and much more than I would expect from a hotel restaurant. In the past I have tried their own Mac and Cheese. It was to die for---seriously!!!! The dining area has all the same wonderful views of the Columbia River as your own private room. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The only problem we have ever had is the handicap parking spaces are a long way from either entry way.

Room Tip: Ask for a view room--some face the parking lot. Rooms at far west end are near a large bridge spann...
