After driving up the Washington side of the river from Portland, we had planned to cross back into Oregon via the Hood River-White Salmon Interstate Bridge. By the time we arrived at the bridge we were a little peckish. Tripadvisor suggested the Riverside Inn so we pulled in. Not much to look at from the parking lot side but once inside and seated the view is spectacular. You can see up and down the river from inside the restaurant. The outside seating look very nice but the breeze was a bit much so the very popular restaurant was pretty full inside. Very nice lunch menu with many salad, sandwich and entree choices. Wife chose the Dungeness crab & Shrimp Baguette. Generous and very tasty. I chose the fish and chips. Lightly breaded cod with french fries. I chose the half serving and god only knows how much the full portion was. I couldn't finish the half portion (I did eat all the cod though :-))
Kenzie our server was delightful and attentive. Refilled our ice tea promptly and checked in often to see if we needed anything. This was a perfectly deelightful find on our trip to see the gorge. From Portland it's a great turnaround distance after travelling up route 14, go across river and then back down 84 to Portland. There are an assortment of fast food places in the area. I recommend you drive right past those and make your way to the Riverside Inn. It is also a hotel and looks like an awesome place to stay. The view's killer.

Great menu with excellent preparation of Italian dishes. Portions are very large so consider sharing.

Outstanding view as well as the meal! Lunch was of seafood and the staff and help were doing all to make things right! Being of mature age, we split with no charge and still took food home with us. Have stopped here every time we go by for the past several years!

We are excited to look at our breakfast menu and see the gluten- free breakfast. The waitress was most helpful making the menu items safe for my husband who had Celiac Disease. This was a huge selling point for us.

Stayed at the hotel for a few nights and had both dinner and breakfast here.

Dinner was solid as everyone in our party enjoyed their entrees. Wine list was very solid, especially in regional wine. Wine markups were good as well.

Entrees were excellently prepared. I had a sausage and fregula dish that was amazing. Nobody was disappointed.

The only downside at dinner was the desserts which seemed weak.

Breakfast on the deck was unreal. The 8-grain toast was a favorite, along with the prosciutto, basil, egg scramble.

We would certainly go back.
