Cudos to the chef. Generous portion, wonderfully prepared, deliciously eaten. Never have had better.

Right on the Columbia River, with splendid views up and down the Columbia Gorge, it's amazing that the food is so much better than what it even needs to be! Every table and comfortable booth has a view and there is an outdoor seating area right beyond the edge of the dining area. The decor is elegant yet casual.
I had the salmon - perfectly done- roasted fingerling potatoes with just the right combination of crisp and tender, and bright green crunchy broccolini cooked exactly right. My partner had the macaroni and cheese, and a very generous portion it was, too. Wine was moderately priced. Dessert was wonderful -- a coconut creme bruille with a praline topping, topped with whipped cream It was big enough to share and then some. Entree prices throughout ranged from $17 - $30. There were attractive soups, starters and salads as well. Wine by the glass was available starting in the $7 range. Desserts were $7 and the selection was varied. Ours was absolutely delicious. Our server, Tina, was endlessly patient as we changed from outside to inside dining, changing with the weather. She always kept an eye out for us, neither hovering nor ignoring. We were never rushed and felt welcome to stay and enjoy the magnificent view and the comfortable surroundings for as long as we chose to.
Breakfast the next morning was equally delicious, with scrambled eggs perfectly done -- neither too moist nor too dry, fantastic local sausage seasoned with sage, choice of very good bacon (I shared with my partner) and seven grain toast. The bowl of fresh fruit we ordered on the side was delightfully cold, varied and yes - fresh. Coffee pours were frequent.

Obviously, I can't speak for everything on the menu, but what I ordered was a pasta dish with much pasta for the sauce and little flavor.
Great view and they used to serve great food years ago. Miss the seafood Alfredo pasta they used to serve!

We stopped here with our 3 children on the way to Portland and found it to be a great place to take in excellent views of the Columbia river while enjoying a delicious meal. The environment was family friendly, but not at the expense of being a classy place to eat. Service was great and we will be back...especially for the fish and chips!
