We had been to Double Mountain when it was just a casual tap room, so the new place was kind of a disappointment. But hey, that's just us.
The place was semi crowded when we got there, and we got a table indoors. It was kinda out in the middle, not a great spot. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we ordered our beer. She gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. We had just missed the lunch special menu that ended at 3pm, it was 3:05 so we ended up ordering off the regular menu.
I had read reviews that the pizza was good, so we ordered the Buffy. $21 ouch. For some reason I thought it was going to be a white pizza, and after ordering we found out is was not. No big deal, but the description on the menu could have been better.
The pizza was ready pretty fast, which was good. We were really hungry from our hike earlier. Overall the pizza tasted good. It was a little charred in spots, but that may just be how they make it. The beer was not as good as we remembered it being in the past. The Molten Lava was my favorite. The IPA was good, the Pale Ales, in our opinion, were pretty bad. Kind of a surprise.
We were so looking forward to Double Mountain on this trip, and it just didn't do it for us this time.
