We are always on the prowl for a tasty double IPA and a decent meal. Double Mountain is just the ticket after a morning of trail climbing and mountain gazing. Our first visit was on the busy 4th of July holiday. The place was crazy busy but still the service was excellent and the food and beer exceptional. David was manning the bar - what a pro. He made us feel like locals which is an amazing talent!
"Man Down" was a super tasty pour of double india brown ale. Not on their regular brew list - we were so delighted that we returned a couple days later from our stay in Portland hoping that the keg had not kicked. We were thrilled to find this hoppy beauty still on draft. And we are sad that the airline won't permit us to take a growler back home!
The pizzas looked great and were flying out of the kitchen at a rapid rate. We loved the salads! The Jamon Torta (a jazzed up ham sandwich) was really tasty - I added the chipotle mayo for a little extra kick. The torta roll was perfect! My sweetie had Turkey Cheddar and Bacon sandwich on chewy sourdough with guacamole. Delish!
The place is open and airy. Great feel with the concrete walls, rough cut wood floors, and exposed beams. Bathroom immaculate. Tables outside for more sunshine or a doggie date!
Compared to the brewery around the corner Double Mountain is the real deal.
