My girlfriend and I opted to eat here after scouring the restaurant list offered by the nearby Vagabond Lodge. We were exhausted following a day visit to Mt. Hood, Hood River, and several other sites along the Columbia River, and we were having difficulty finding a place that included gluten-free options for her. It turned out to be a great choice. We enjoyed wild salmon and a buffalo burger, while being entertained by live music from local artists. The restaurant, which doubles as a wine store, is owned by locals who use their neighbor’s fresh produce in their dishes with delicious results. Overall it was a wonderful find after an exhausting day.

We were staying at the Vagabond next door so it was an easy stroll for dinner and wine. We heard Thursday was live music which was the night we planned on dining there so that was a bonus.

Its a small casual place with super friendly staff. It was a bit busy but they found space for us. The bar was full as people seemed to be hanging out enjoying the evening. The menu isn't big but what we did order was good. And of cousre the wine was good. There was a winery setup doing free tastings. Another bonus! I think their bottles of wine are reasonable so ask before you start ordering glasses. We made that mistake! And the music was fun but as soon as the music ended everyone was gone. I guess the place closes early.

Best kept secret. Don't be in a hurry, just come in, enjoy a glass (or bottle) of wine or beer and have the food. YUMMY!!!

I must say that I rarely write a review that does not invite a re-visit. This one will be different. The owner seemed exasperated in general and was extremely slow to take our orders. When the orders were finally taken, she took them one at a time and left the table between each order and delivery. Several the beverage items that we requested were not available to us, both wine and hard ciders. Not everyone ordered food, but what food we did order took forever to get there ( how long can it take to heat up premade food?) and then was nothing special. I am still scratching my head over the two glowing reviews that sent me there in the first place. Hmmmmmmmm is all I have to say. I know that everyone has their bad days, but sorry, White Buffalo, we will not be returning.

We were hesitant with the giant white buffalo statue outside a plain, side of the road building. Once inside, it was just lovely, quaint bar, outstanding selection of wines... and the food. Well, the vegetables and meat come directly from the farm, fresh as can be. Excelent selection of intenresting entrees, we couldn't make up our minds. The service was a little slow, however everything is made to order and some entrees clearly state a long cooking time... so don't go if you are rushed. However, is you want to sit back with a great glass of wine, relax and enjoy a good meal, this is a must.
