Panorama Point is an easy way to see Mt. Hood and it is a short drive from Hood River. There is a park there with a nice overlook but it is poorly marked from the roads by sign. Panorama Point has impressive views that are very camera friendly and is a short drive in off I-84.

We didn't get too close to the actual mountain, but it was stunning to photograph from the Highway near the town of Mount Hood. Especially cool when you can see Mt Hood and Mt Adams at the same time (ahead of you and behind you)!

I must have missed something. We drove this loop and I feel like all we saw the entire drive was a lovely road surrounded by trees. I think we saw the mountain once the whole trip. It was a cloudy day so perhaps that was why. I am from Colorado and we have lots of sweeping vistas and I remember being very surprised at the amount of trees surrounding the road and blocking the view....
We thought this was a long drive without much to see. We wouldn't do it again.

It is a bit slushy but what really matters is that there is enough snow to board and ski. Great staff and the hotel and lift make this a wonderful break from the regular summer fun.

Was staying for a week in portland. We decided we needed to take a drive and see this mountain. It will not disappoint do the scenic drive and check out the waterfalls. There are orchards and winery's along the drive. It's very scenic on a nice day and if you have the time check out the local shops. Btw we had booked a hotel facing the river in Portland and had no idea until the third day that we could see the mountain from our window it had been soo hazy..
