Dropped in for lunch and was very happy. Interesting food prepared quickly. Great choices for lunch, and I suspect that their dinner menu is just as good. Definitely want to come back.

I read some interesting reviews on this place and I frankly don't understand any of the negativity. We had a late lunch here, four of us, and the service and food was excellent! It really is a very cute little place tucked away a little on a side street. Please don't let the linen table cloths scare you away, this place is very inviting and caters to lots of people in all styles of dress. I had a burger that was off the charts delicious. My wife and mother-in-law both had a sandwich that they finished the entire humungous thing, which is very surprising as my wife only weighs about 110 pounds and usually doesn't eat large servings like that. So they were pretty impressed. The other order in our group was a curry dish and looked very good, too. I think this place really likes to keep things fresh and their menu offers up different foods for a variety of tastes. We had a great meal and the prices were very reasonable. If you are in Hood River, eat at Nora's, you will not go away hungry.

First of all, it was a weekend night and we did not have reservations. However, when we got there only 4 tables were in use. They definitately need a hostess - we stood at the entrance for several minutes before someone helped us. We were seated right away but were told "well, everyone is coming at once so it may be a little slow (since we didn't have reservations)". So we just ordered quickly - but it was a little slow once a few more tables were seated. There were only two people working the dining room so it got chaotic pretty quickly. I saw one couple come in, wait around a few minutes, then leave when nobody helped them. The food was excellent - we had the "nosh plate" which was a small plate and very good, and also the fish tacos which also are very good. Our server did a nice job of telling us a little about thier menu and the dining room is very pleasant. So - some was very good and some was average - they just need to hire a hostess!

We had been to Nora's once before and we were glad to be in Hood River again so that we could return. The ingredients are all organic and locally sourced where ever possible. The tastes are interesting and recipes innovative. We had the nosh plate and the mussels in curry sauce. The nosh plate has lots of interesting flavours and the pickles (beets, cucumbers) alone are worth stopping to sample. The curry sauce is subtle and a great compliment mussels. I had the pork shank which was lightly smoked then glazed with a molasses and bourbon sauce---incredible!

The service was very relaxed and a while our main was a little late in arriving the server was apologetic and compensated us with an extra glass of wine and dessert. (The creme brule is wonderful!)

The food at Nora's Table is very good. We had the ribeye and pork shank on our visit, and it was fresh and well prepared. We also had the nosh plate as a starter, which was quite tasty. The service was not as attentive and friendly as you would expect in a high-end restaurant. However, we found this to be the case in many restaurants that we visited in Oregon and Washington. Not sure if it is a regional thing. Expect to wait a while for your drinks to be refilled, and don't expect much enthusiasm from the staff.
