The theater is beautifully restored and the building is immaculate. The staff is polite and respectful. My husband and I went here just last night and, as I write this, we are both dealing with severe diarrhea and intestinal cramps. The salads and sandwiches, (The Venetian and the Roast Beef), were superb going down but they are now horrible coming out! How do we know our food poisoning was from The Venetian and not somewhere else? We were out on our first date night in months, while our children stayed home. They are fine as they did not eat at the Venetian. Thank goodness!

We highly recommend the theater but please, avoid the food!

We wandered into this place because it looked busy, so we thought it must be good! Also, Hillsboro is in the middle of Oregon wine country, so we figured they would have a good selection of local wines. Turns out, it was busy because it is new and people must have been there trying it out. It is evidently a much touted renovation of the old local movie theater, and they added the wine bar and bistro. We asked to be seated outside, and they told us they were taking us upstairs to the balcony, but it wasn't really outside - inside with doors open to the balcony. The floor up there shook every time someone walked on it, and they had A LOT of wait staff so there was lots of fast walking going on, thus the floor pretty much shook the whole time we were there. Service, in spite of so many staff, was not great - staff were not well trained. We ordered an appetizer and a pizza to share. They brought them both at the same time. The beer and wine menu had no local Oregon beers, and only a couple Oregon wines. I wouldn't exactly call this a wine bar. Overall, very disappointing. Food was edible, but nothing to rave about. Water wasn't very good - they should filter it. They did give us free coffee while we were waiting for our table, and it was actually great. From reading reviews on this website, looks like there are better places to eat. We were just driving through, so didn't look at reviews ahead of time.
