Our first stay at the Historic Weasku Inn was a very pleasant overnight. We stayed in a cabin that provided so much comfort including a fire place, large bathroom, mini-frig, a veranda, and a bed fit for a celebrity. The lodge has an interesting history, a thick wooded setting, complimentary breakfast, and very courteous staff (thanks Brent) along the Rogue River. The Inn is located in a quiet neighborhood east of Grants Pass, less than 5 miles from restaurants, however the I-5 hwy near the Inn, is an unfortunate and unavoidable noise when your strolling the grounds.

Room Tip: Go in the off season for best rates.

My partner and I were touring through the States due to a collaboration project we were working on. Whilst heading up through Oregon I thought it'd be a good idea to stop off at a peaceful place which I'd researched the night before and booked a stay online. Having done this throughout the entirety of our journeys, we were used to rocking up to places and not know what to expect. Weasku Inn was an actual delight to discover though! Being lovers of all things woodland, we loved walking into the giant cabin and had incredible service from when we arrived straight until when we left. We were given an absolutely giant cabin, modern decor and skylights that let us see the stars at night. The entire cabin was immaculate, with a balcony and rocking chair that looked over the little river which we took a walk along to say hey to the locals. We'd ambushed a local grocers nearby and bought food to eat in front of our fireplace, and in the morning my partner ate breakfast at the main cabin before we checked out. We didn't want to leave, and we so sad we could only stay one night! It was so beautiful and peaceful, we're not one for city living, regardless we live in London, UK, so getting away from loud noise and being somewhere so serene was perfect.

My husband had to go to a nearby town for business and I had a nasty cold and needed a little recuperation time and space. We had a coupon for any of the properties owned by this company from a previous very pleasant stay at a different property, so we thought we'd try it. From the minute I called and the clerk helped me figure out the cheapest rate, to asking for dinner recommendations, to housekeeping, to check out, the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and well-spoken.
We were a bit surprised to discover that the cabins are not historical , and are only semi-detached. I wouldn't really cal them cabins I guess, just FYI, but they had excellent soundproofing and were very cozy with the gas fireplaces. I should know, I sat in front of the fireplace for 2 days straight and looked out the window. You won't be able to see the river at all if it's summer I think because the leaves would block the view, but we could see it in December, which was pleasant. The setting is a bit odd--Grant's Pass is pretty much a timber/mining sort of town and although the Weasku would have been pretty remote, and even that much cooler when it was built, it is kind of on the edge of this, ummm, let's say working class little city. It's a nifty little city, with it's own charms and some nice places to eat, but it's not exactly the country anymore, as it would have been when Cary Grant was hanging out there. Nevertheless, the restoration of the lodge is commendable and I recommend reading the history (especially if you are a Cary Grant fan). I am very glad such a caring (the other property we stayed at was also an historic re-do) and service-oriented company has rescued it. The property itself is lovely. and the rooms were spanking clean and tastefully decorated. Oh, and the wi-fi worked just fine and you can make your own waffles at breakfast! I would totally recommend this place and will probably stay there again if business returns us to the region.

Room Tip: Just tell the staff what you want and they will match you up. Super helpful folks. One room in the...

My family needed to stay in Grants Pass recently and we chose an "A" frame cabin at the Weasku Inn. The cabin had a fireplace, a living room, a loft for our daughters and a view of the river. A peaceful and beautiful setting to relax and get away from the city.
The staff went out of their way to make our visit a wonderful experience. In the evening we were able to invite a few relatives over for wine and hor-de-vours served to us in the main lobby. The lobby looks more like a huge turn of the century log cabin living room. Warmed by the fireplace we discussed old times and enjoyed the atmosphere.
In the mornings we enjoyed a "made to order" continental breakfast in the dining area.
We loved the kind attention everyone showed us and will cirtainly return.

We stayed at the Weasku Inn on Christmas night. When we walked into the lobby to check in, we were greeted by the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful when we asked about finding a place open for dinner - not an easy task on Christmas. She called a couple of restaurants for us to confirm they were still open. When we said we might just eat some leftovers we brought along, she offered to heat them up for us.
We had a large cabin with a private balcony overlooking the Rogue River. The cabin had a huge Jacuzzi tub, a wood-burning fireplace, and big bed full of soft, luxurious linens, covers and pillows. Very cozy and romantic!
The next morning we enjoyed a substantial breakfast in the main building, including good coffee, juice, pastries, cereals, fruits, hard-boiled eggs, and biscuits and gravy.
Overall, we would highly recommend the Weasku Inn. It’s a beautiful place to stay!

We stayed in the Deluxe King Cabin. Very clean, relaxing, great beds. Took a wonderful walk along the Rogue River. Sat on the deck and looked at the river. The main lodge is beautiful and we sat in the great room in front of the fire sipping wine and visiting.

What a wonderful place to visit! We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a good location for us to visit surrounding attractions. We stayed in the A-Frame cabin and it was very charming. The only thing that was missing was a dresser. The appitizers were nice but the warm cookies were great every night. Because we were there during off season we were the only ones there and the staff made us feel so specail. They would make a plate of appitizers and cookies just for us to take back to the room and enjoy or sit in the warm and cozy lodge. The staff could not have been better. In the mornings for breakfast they would greet you and make sure that you had everything you needed and in the evenings the lady working was the best!! I had great conversations with her and felt like I had found a new friend. She was always accomodating. I could not say enough good things about The Weasku Inn.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
This Oregon legend was built in 1924 along the banks of the scenic Rogue River. It was a vacation retreat to many Hollywood personalities such as Clark Gable, Carol Lombard and Walt Disney. In 1993, Country House Inns purchased the Weasku Inn and began restoring it. In September of 1998, the restoration was complete, the five rooms in the Lodge having been updated, while the original character and splendor was maintained. In addition, eleven cabins were built on the property and an original A Frame cabin remodeled. Since its completion, "Travel and Leisure Magazine" named this historic landmark "one of the top 25 Lodges in the United States". Recently, in "1,000 Places to See Before You Die: A Traveler's Life List ", Patricia Shultz declared the Weasku Inn one of those "must see" places.
