We stayed here before and after a raft trip. Expensive for the space but clean. Skip the restaurant as it was $150 for three of us and even though we told them one gluten free they would bring me something and then take it back because it wasn't gluten free. Very expensive for just OK food. Go down the road to the little place with the band and have some good bar food and a great band!

Room Tip: Maybe the main lodge has a better room. We were in a cabin. The view and lawn are great.

I decided to surprise my husband and stay somewhere other than a place just off the freeway as we traveled to Seattle. I booked one night at Morrison's on the second floor of the lodge instead of a cabin since we didn't need anything larger. By the time we had driven 6 hours we were hot and worn out. We took the turn off, drove a bit on a back road and arrived at this cool, restful lodge. What a relief! We tossed our things in our room and just sat on the huge lawn watching the river. The grounds and lodge reminded me of the lodges in the 1950's that my family used to take us to. That evening as people sat on the lodge deck eating, a group of kids played ball games on the lawn. The cabins, lodge and lawns brought back memories of summer camp years ago. What a great rest we had there.
My only complaint was that the lodge rooms seemed overpriced for being simple and without air conditioning, but the experience of being there made up for it. We could only afford to stay one night because it was the last night of their spring discount special.

The best thing about this lodge is the setting and view. We took a bottle of wine across the expansive lawn to the adirondack chairs, and enjoyed the view.

The accommodations were disappointing as was the lodge itself. Dinner was good but not worth $40/person. The staff was friendly.

My family and I, husband and two offspring (17 and 21), had a serious need to hit the Rogue River for a three day, two night raft trip a few weeks ago. We were to meet our guide at Galice at 8:30 AM so we needed to stay nearby. I booked a short stay at Morrison's and only regretted that it was short. We were physically at the Lodge for less than 12 hours; we wanted to be comfortable but did not want to spend much. I called the desk (don't reserve through the tool. Talk to someone!) and Cathy answered the phone, we talked through the options and she put us in a "Tuckaway". The Tuckaway area has several choices - and ours was quirky and comfy. Situated on the creek, it was a small one bedroom with loft, livingroom, full kitchen and bath. We were snug, and we laughed as my 6 ft something "child" bumped his head upstairs. And it was perfect. The kitchen is well equipped (though we did not need to cook) and the bath towels are something to rave about. Soft, thick and plenty of them. Nice. The Lodge offers a hearty buffet breakfast with home-made everything, including a homemade strawberry syrup for the french toast. No chance of going hungry. The Lodge itself has a lot of history if you are interested in that sort of thing and is complete with down home touches that make you feel like you are relaxing in your friend's hunting lodge. I highly recommend this place if you want to be treated with great hospitality while being off the beaten path.

Room Tip: The tuckaways are very private and quiet.

We got a recommendation for this lodge from a family member, and couldn't have been happier. we stayed in a no frills room, but very comfortable and clean, although there could be a bit more space around the king size bed (i stubbed my toe real bad - twice!), but the cabin-like room with a nice size front porch with river views is very relaxing. the restaurant food was very good, the wine selection was good, and the chef was very accommodating with food allergies and last minute changes. get to dinner early and have a cocktail on the deck enjoying the sunset. there are lots of activities for families, a pool, and trails. there was a tv in our room that we never turned on, the place was so nice, who need tv? the front desk staff was very helpful.

We stayed at Morrison's Rogue River Lodge because we had a morning float trip scheduled with them the following day. There are several rafting trips available, some with more whitewater than others. We opted for the least rough of the trips and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and informative guide. We were very impressed with the lodge, especially with the beautiful location right on the river. We stayed in one of the duplexes across the street from the main lodge. The room was very roomy, with a comfortable sofa, recliner, kitchenette with table and chairs, and large bathroom. One minor problem was that there was a very limited number of TV channels, but most people probably don't go to this area to watch TV anyway. Our room was elevated to avoid flooding and was a little noisy as the people in the adjacent room got up early and the noise of them moving around vibrated through the floor. We looked at the rooms in the lodge the next morning and were glad that we stayed in the duplex. The lodge rooms were very nice but not nearly as roomy. This would be a great place for families, as there were activities around the river, pool tables, and other games to entertain the kids. We arrived in the late evening so we did not eat dinner here. It looked good but was fairly expensive and had a fixed menu. The extra cost buffet breakfast was quite good, although also a little pricey. If you don't eat at the lodge, the nearest places are several miles away, I'd estimate 7-10 miles. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay as well as our rafting trip. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend Morrison's to friends and relatives.

As others have mentioned, the lodge is located in the trees above an expansive riverside lawn. Very relaxing setting with many fun activities for families and groups, especially active "kids" of all ages. We chose to stay in a small cabin the night before our day raft trip and found it very relaxing, comfy and fun. We played in the river, hiked, swam and played disc golf before dinner, which was perfect. Dinner was very good, casual and a bit nicer than usual for the kids as they absolutely loved the flank steak, tasty lentil soup and mouth watering orange rolls. My chicken was tender, juicy and the sauce was delicious. We borrowed a family movie to watch in our cabin and got up in time for the breakfast buffet prior to rafting. The buffet was average, but ample and very convenient. We had a gorgeous day on the river with a pleasant group and fun guides who seemed safety conscious but relaxed enough to put everyone at ease. The rafting was not difficult at all in the main rafts as the guides really did the work while we paddled as we liked to... or not. Those up for a challenge had the choice of one person inflatables.
It was all great fun and not having cell phone and Internet access for a bit was very, very nice as well. This is not a luxe location as it is set up as a place to just hang out in nature and be comfortable. Hence the outside workout and game room in the shade of trees and decks made both quirky and memorable. To us, it felt like we stepped back in time to the kind of vacation our parents or grandparents might have chosen years ago. Charming and old fashioned in the nicest way. We look forward to another trip as within hours of arriving we felt like a longer stay would be even more fun as the time would allow for even more activities in this pretty, natural area along this especially beautiful river. Thanks for a great birthday and stay!

Room Tip: Richard helped us choose a room that was just right for our smallish group. We liked being out away...
