“Beautiful location, great food & hospitality”

My family stayed one night at Morrison's before our kayaking trip on the Rogue River with Orange Torpedo Trips. We had a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit that slept seven. It was perfect for our large group! Comfortable & homey with a kitchenette, sofa, plush towels etc.

We enjoyed the riverfront and lawn games, the pool, the game room and exercise area and the fabulous meals! This was our second stay here and we would definitely book again. Our first stay we were in a one bedroom unit with a gorgeous view of the river. Perfect place to spend a summer afternoon, fishing and enjoying the wildlife.

Just stayed two nights at the lodge and really enjoyed the setting and amenities. We stayed in Taylor Creek 1 and the room was spatious and comfortable. We ate dinner two nights and both were amazing! The chef really impressed us and the dinner staff were accomodating. I was a little sceptical about spending $38 on a chicken dinner, but the fennel onion chicken was the best chicken I have eaten.
The only downside was breakfast. We asked for 8 am seating and could not find a clean table or place settings. Once we put tables together ourselves went to get food and they were out of half of it. When we asked the staff if they could put out more bread for toast and potatoes we received rude comments (Travis). So we cancelled breakfast the second morning. Despite breakfast and rudeness of staff, we enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

From Oct 5th to Oct 9th my wife, son and I stayed here for a 3day, 4 night fly fishing vacation. We were in a cabin with two bedrooms for $480/night. It was heated with a noisy gas heater in a central hallway. If you wanted heat you had to leave your bedroom door open. If you sat watching TV, it didn't cycle on until you were cold and didn't turn off until you were too hot. I wanted to watch some football but no-one could get our TV to work until the last day. We were asked what we would like to drink on the boat and requested hot chocolate because it was cold and foggy. When the guide opened the thermous The water was barely colored except for white chunks that looked like curdled milk from an unwashed thermous. The first two mornings at breakfast we wanted hot tea and there was a container labeled hot water and tea bags. The water was not even luke warm. We pointed that out and they took the hot water container to the kitchenand brought it back with even cooler water.

The cabin wall electric outlet was dead. The bedroom alarm clock plugs into an outlet that unplugs every time the mattress moves the least bit.

There was no paper or starter for the fireplace after the first night.

Finally, no-one could explain my bill when I checked out. They said the new software they had used all year was the problem.

We won't be back.

On my first trip to Morrison's Lodge, my main objective was whitewater rafting for three days. After returning home to Portland, I found myself missing Morrison's Lodge. It's homey and cozy atmosphere brought memories of a quieter time. Tucked away along the Rogue River, its rolling lawn reaches the banks of the river. It's cabins and lodge rooms are clean, comfy and filled with character. An outdoors deck looks to the Rogue River. It's lit up at night for guests seated at tables for their gourmet 4-course meals. I was truly amazed at the quality of their meals which could be found in any big city. Dinner began with 'Risotto Primavera' followed by organic mixed greens with orange wedges and feta. Their famous homemade orange rolls were delicious. Next, lamb entree was tender, moist and savory. To top it off, I relished my chocolate roulade with fresh raspberries. An incredible feast. Course after course, it was 5 star all the way. What I especially appreciated was the excellent, friendly service by all employees. Before dinner, a bell rings at 7 pm for the one-time seating. After that, a server reads aloud the menu for the day. Great touch! Many activities are available, such as: swimming in their large pool, white water rafting trips, horseback riding, fishing and it's also a spot for weddings and reunions! I loved sitting in their lodge at night. A fire was lit in the stone fireplace with comfortable couches near to it. A couple was playing chess, others were reading and I was visiting with my husband. This brings up another point. Cellphones don't work at the lodge. I enjoyed being "unplugged" for a night. In the morning, a buffet breakfast is served in the lodge. I especially appreciated meeting Lowell and Lesley, the managers, as well as Diane who works in the gift shop. Kudos to all of Morrison's Lodge staff! I loved my stay.

We read the other people’s reviews, and they were accurate: Great food, great staff, fantastic location. not a Hilton-by-the-lake, and the place run like well oiled machine. We came with a few special requests: We’re vegetarians – No Problem, they even have choices and not just vegetables on noodles! We wanted to Kayak, not raft – No Problem, in fact Frankie, our guide, went and got a larger Kayak for a guy 6’5”. Two men – No Problem, no one was awkward and we were very comfortable. This includes Frankie, the rafting guide; great skills, great conversation that resulted in a really fun day. At the mid day lunch our guide sat at our table and ate with us. He even went to the kitchen and got more ketchup and cheese. It’s a special place that can make you feel like you’re a wanted guest, and yet give you space enough to not feel like your being smothered. The greatest compliment – a return visit.

Our family had zero expectation coming from big city with excellent restaurants, when we arrived at the Morrison's Lodge we were shocked at the quality of chefs and food they prepared night after night. They served reasonably priced 4 course meal and we can hardly forget long after our rafting trip. The dinner experience was spectacular and middle school children cannot forget the delicious chicken fettucini! The lodge offers family oriented services and they are just a group of wonderful people you want to be around while enjoy your nature scenery. our two children (middle school aged) enjoy the environment and the food and we definitely recommend this place to our family and friends!

My review is limited to our river trip, as we did not stay at the lodge.

Our family took the 'all day' rafting tour and it was fantastic! The check in was simple and we were quickly fitted for gear and shuttled to our drop off area. The first part of the trip was quiet as we were almost the only boat in the water. The wildlife and scenery were breathtaking.

The morning portion of the trip was very easy going, with some historical sites and only mild rapids at points. This included navigating through Hells Gate, which is gorgeous. Our group was larger, so some of the people used kayaks along side the raft and it was completely safe and a way to get closer to water and enhance the experience.

Lunch was served on the deck of the rustic, lovely Morrison Lodge, and better than expected. They even provided a vegetarian selection. This resort is beautiful and looks like a fantastic destination for any size group. The staff was friendly and prompt.

Our afternoon provided more challenging rapids, but enough still water to swim at times or banter with other boaters. Our guide, Frankie, was amazing. He kept us entertained and appropriately amused (in a non-dorky way!).

I definitely recommend booking a rafting tour through the lodge. They are reasonably priced and provide and exceptional experience on the Rogue!
