We ate here because we got a gift certificate. We would say the food is good but we felt the place is a little on the "grubby" side. Old oil clothes on the tables along with poor collection of table decor. Lots and lots of autographed photos on the walls from the movie industry. A showcase near the food window that is full of just plain crappy looking stuff. We used the restrooms, which are your basic hole in the walls but on the way to them you can look into the dish washing area and we hoped it was just that and not a food prep area because then we would have used restrooms to throw-up in. The old, decrepit decor of the place, the dish washing area, just the over-all look of the place leaves one with the feeling of wondering how the food is prepared. Don't get us wrong, the salad, soup and main dishes were good and we would love to go back again. Other things that are not in favor of the owner is it took a long time to get main dish and they only had 4 tables going. The main dish was not, I repeat, was not hot but warm. The owner needs to strip the place out and remodel, including the kitchen area. Yes we know the look he has is for his momentos but he needs to bring the place into this century. We also noticed some rips in the vinyl seats in the place and the before mentioned table covers need help. So if you can get by the look of the place, the food was good. We did think the pizza prices were really high, even if some where deep dish. We are seniors and we noticed that the other three, eventually 5 tables more were seniors too. May have just been the time of the day for seniors but no young adults were in here and with the decor and food wait time, I don't know if they would come.
