The service is great and the food is to go to the ends of the earth for! Beautiful place! The grounds are a work of art and it sits right on the mighty Rogue River where you can dine inside or out and watch the jet boats coming in and taking off.

My wife and I both ordered the rib-eye steak dinners cooked medium. Although, I had the clam chowder with garlic rice as a side dish, she chose the salad with baby red potatoes. She told me the salad and vegetables on her plate were exceptionally fresh. But the clam chowder arrived in front of me lukewarm at best and virtually had no clams in it to boot! However, the garlic rice side dish was very delicious. Btw... Keely, our waitress, brought out a new hot bowl of clam chowder that definitely had more clams in it. So all was quickly resolved.
The Boyd's coffee they brew was very good too! The 12 oz rib-eye steaks were cooked and tasted very good but the price of $24.95 each was kinda hefty for a 12 oz rib-eye steak that wasn't the best I ever had... it was just pretty good. I will say the pricing probably isn't so much due to the food as for the restaurant's location... Right on the Rogue River! The building appears relatively new and the bathrooms are clean. But if the weather permits in the late spring, try to get a table outside on one of their decks. It is a very pleasant viewing experience while dining.
As for the rib-eye steak dinners I would give a rating of 8 out of 10, the coffee a 9, the overall cleanliness of the restaurant a 9, and the ambiance a 8.5 and the service was very good too. However, the overall value if you are going there strictly for the food a 7, but its still a good choice for a nice restaurant to take a date or celebrate an anniversary.

we always bring visitors here for a meal. We love to sit out on the deck overlooking the river but when the weather is bad sitting by the fireplace is very soothing.

The food is always good and fresh. The service is sometimes a little slow but the ambience makes up for it. If the white cheddar mashed potatoes are on the menu they are a MUST and the apricot chicken is my personal favorite. Let me also recommend the Mimosa Sunrise for your cocktail.

Living locally in a small town you are always looking for a favorite spot to go often. Taprock is one of our favorite places, as the food is always good and the atmosphere is awesome. Service is kind of up and down depending on the day of the week you go. Summers are always swamped with tourists as it is where they load and unload the Hellsgate Excursion Boat Trips. Would recommend to anyone wanting to relax on the river.
