Our house was undergoing renovation, and when the kids came home from college we needed more space if we were to enjoy Christmas. The snow was a welcome relief from the Portland rain, and there was something for everyone to do in Government camp. The units at Grand Lodges are new and gorgeous. Gas fireplaces (two!) and 2 TV's. The kitchen was well equipped for a large Christmas dinner. It is only a little over an hour from Portland. The staff is very helpful and the place was spotless. I hope our new remodel looks as nice. Lots to do in Government Camp, restaurant wise. The skiing is reasonably priced, and you get a lift ticket and rental discount when you stay at Collins Lake or Grand Lodges. The kids found the free wi-fi very fast on their college laptops.

We had the impression from the Collins Lake Resort website that it is a well maintained luxury condo/townhouse. But we are so disappointed with the dirtiness in the room. The first impression after we stepped inside is the dirty and stained carpet in the living room. Later, we found all the comforter or blanket that were laid on the beds of the three bedrooms were dirty, or should I say heavily used and never been washed. I flipped each bed in searching clean bedding. At least the sheets are clean. Finally, we found a single thin cotton blanket that was clean. But it was not warm enough for us. We had to use our own blanket that we kept in the car. One of the comforter had a patch of dried residue (food, or something worse?) on top. I could not believe what I saw. This had certainly made our vacation here unpleasant. We could have stayed in a cheaper but cleaner place. For sure I will not come back to this facility again.

The location to Mt. Hood is good, convenient. Good trails around the resort. The road noise is audible. The building and interior finish gave an low quality impression.

Enjoyed our stay. Staff warm and friendly. Chalet was immaculate, warm, had everything we need. Off-season special price was a good deal. Town was quiet and within walking distance.

First time staying at this resort and loved every minute of it. The accommodations were great, very clean and very comfortable. Our condo felt both spacious and cozy at the same time. Beautiful views, and a wide array of amenities made this a trip to remember. Easy access to the multiple ski areas proved super convenient and gave us the ability to pack in as much snow activity as possible. The staff at the office could not have been friendlier, they went out of their way to help us and made us feel right at home. I would definitely recommend the resort and am hoping I can make it back next year.

The accommodations of the condo we stayed in were awesome, staff at the office was great and helped us with everything we needed. The hot tub is a plus and the location to all the slopes can't be beat, not to mention walking to the pubs and restaurants in Gov't Camp. Can’t wait to come back.

My wife and I came to Collins Lake Resort for a week in December 2009. We were both very impressed with the amenities, the location, and all of the activities that are available to guests. The resort had all the creature comforts of a luxury hotel. The breadth of activiites was truly exceptional. From snowboarding to midnight snow mobile rides we had a truly amazing time. The proximity to three world-class ski resorts coupled with the fact you are only 45 minutes from Portland, make it a perfect location for a week-long vacation. My wife and I were so impressed with the resort that we are going back for a week this summer and plan on staying for two weeks.

We stayed in one of the new Grand Lodges units. Great for the four of us, everything new and beautiful. A few minor problems, no internet, poor cell phone coverage, and no where to put the trash during a week stay. Did not get a good night sleep on the bed, and the stove took forever to boil water. Rumor has it the timeshare buyers are not happy. I see why.
