Trillium Lake is a short drive from Mt. Hood. The $5 day use fee may be paid at the boat ramp entrance or further south at the parking area used by fishermen and walkers. Visitors may walk the 2-mile Trillium Shoreline Trail, fish, or just sit and enjoy the beauty of Mt. Hood. On a beautiful blue-sky morning, the reflection of Mt. Hood in the still lake waters is breathtaking!
This is a beautiful place from where to experience the majesty of Mt Hood. It is at the right distance. It is very near Mt Hood and further ahead is Hood village which is quaint and nice. The small lake is serene and not many people around. You can walk around the lake which is a couple of miles around.
I've been to many lakes throughout my life. Trillium lake is in the top of my list! Water is so calm and the view is spectacular! You can walk all around the lake and it's an easy walk. Mt. Hood peak is visible from the other end of the lake.
Our hotel clerk told us this was the place to take pictures of Mt. Hood! We went there early one morning and watched people fishing, walking, etc. It is the spot to take the perfect picture of Mt. Hood and its reflection in this peaceful lake. Most definitely worth a stop!
Walked around the lake - 2 miles. Very well maintained pathways. View of Mt Hood is breathtaking. Did not fish but many were. Still some camping even in late September.
