The best thing about the Ice Axe Grill is that it is at the foot of Mt Hood. It is a typical brew pub - casual and kind of noisy. The restaurant itself is situated between the main road and a loop off the main road, and, as such, does not offer any views of the spectacular scenery in the area.
We met a family member for lunch at the Ice Axe on a holiday weekend. There weren't many people in the restaurant when we got there so service was very good - can't comment how it might be when they are busy. I sampled one of their micro-brews, which I found to be okay but nothing special. My daughter ordered spinach artichoke dip with naan and found it to be very good. The family member that we met ordered a burger that looked to be good, my wife had soup and salad that were also good, while I had pork sliders that were just fine. Most of the burgers and sandwiches were priced $13 - $15, a little on the high side.
I would sum up the Ice Axe as having decent food, decent beer and decent atmosphere in a great place ..... Mt Hood.
