The ocean in Gold Beach is so blue and big. Coming from Tennessee the ocean was amazing. I have not seen the ocean for 7 years, and I am definitely coming back sooner. Loved the hot tubs and the ocean view from the deck.

We had a friend recommend the Irelands Rustic units, a part of the Gold Beach Inn. Our room was great, beautiful view of the ocean, easy walk to the beach. Great service and friendly people. We had a rustic unit with a fireplace and kitchen and a teriffic king sized bed. We througly enjoyed our five day stay and will return next year. There is also an area with a large deck, sun room and two hot tubs that you can sit in and wach the sunset.

Beautiful views, lovely beach. Gold Beach is very walk friendly. We loved the gourmet coffee and bakery at Gold Beach Books.
Friendly staff and really liked the reclining chairs in the room.

Yes, there is a lovely view of the ocean from every room at the Gold Beach Inn, but I paid for the price of a month in this motel, after being assured that the internet signal was "great". As I was working on a project and needed privacy, quiet and reliable internet access, traveled with a small pet and am not a "morning person" who typically goes out to restaurants for breakfast, this sounded like a wonderful deal. No complaints about the continental breakfast...at least you're sometimes able to get a hard-boiled egg along with the carbs. Otherwise, the place was a disappointment. For one thing, construction was in progress on the building and no one told me this beforehand. A second point: the management really didn't seem terribly personable or concerned with customer satisfaction. The internet signal was so bad that after the first week of finding the signal too low to access the internet 5 out of 7 days and getting more attitude than help from the people at the front desk, I actually signed up for local dial-up service and worked at around 44kb. The price for my animal added to the monthly "bargain off-season rate" made the room even less of a bargain. And it really isn't all that private. This is the part of the beach where you'll see people all year 'round, unless a really vicious storm is hitting. People with kids would check in and let them run wild from one floor of the motel up and down stairs to another, sometimes for hours on end. As the walkways are common, you cannot keep your curtains open without the casual passersby taking inventory of your room. You can hear doors slam, people talking in the rooms next door (talking...not yelling). In short? There are better places to stay in Gold Beach where the rooms are comparable, the rates are truly a bargain, the management really cares about the people and, if you are a responsible pet owner and abide by the rules, you won't get a ridiculous per diem pet fee added to the cost of your room. Better still, the owner really put some money, time and effort into building a great wireless network, so I get a beautiful, clean, high-speed connection 99.9% of the time. And the place is secure. No, I'm not on the ocean side of 101, but I am sitting a few hundred feet above sea level. I can see the ocean...I just don't have to run away from it in the event of a tsunami. I'll stay put and likely remain high and dry. It's an easy walk to the beach, grocery stores, laundromat, et cetera. And it's quiet most of the time, if you like that sort of thing. And when I'm working on projects, as I am again, quiet solitude is exactly what I need. I did not find this at the Gold Beach Inn.
