We stayed in a second floor room with a balcony and wood burning fireplace. The view from our balcony was wonderful and we often left the door open so we could hear the waves. Even though it was December, as is frequently the case the weather on the coast was excellent! It was really quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the pine interior really did feel like a cabin. We especially enjoyed the spas (3 of them) every evening under the stars. I think they were especially accessible since it was the low season - I'd recommend coming here in winter for that very reason! We had one all to ourselves both nights of our stay.

The only caveat I would offer about this particular room is that the wood burning fireplace is very smoky. We are not novice fireplace users, having heated more than one house by wood-burning fireplace throughout the winter, so it wasn't that we didn't know how. I'm pretty sure the flue needed to be cleaned - the fire started out well, but then smoke began to drift out, and even though most was still going up the chimney, enough was coming out that we had to break down the fire and let it go out, leaving the sliding balcony door open all night to get the smoke out. This did not really put a damper on our stay, but I would definitely recommend just getting one of the gas burning fireplace rooms.

Everything was comfortable & clean. There was a mini fridge and microwave, and although I had brought my own hair dryer, the lady at the front desk offered me one if I needed one since the rooms are not supplied with them. We ate out for breakfast, so we didn't see what the continental breakfast was like.

If you like to surf, there's a hotel that rents boards right next door, and from the looks of the waves, there is some great surfing to be had!

We will definitely be staying here again! It was an excellent place to relax and get away, for an incredibly great price.

Stayed two nights in the Brunswick condo. It had two bedrooms and another bed in the kitchen. Pool table in the middle of the living room was fun for the kids. First night was horrible with what sounded like a hurd of elephants on top of us until nearly midnight. Super friendly girl in the office assured me it wouldn't happen again and it didn't. Condo was a ways away from the ocean view tubs, but we enjoyed the walk. Great beach access and everyone we encountered was friendly. Overall, we liked it a lot. Floors were a bit dingy and shower pressure was non-existent. Those things were easily overlooked for us and we will wouldn't hesitate to come back.

This is a hotel we would not have found if not for Trip Advisor. It isn't much from the outside, and easy to miss as you drive by. But its a lovely place to stay -- the Rustic Lodges are charming, the beach is right there, and even a hot tub to enjoy! Plus the prices are great. This place is hard to beat.

Have you ever wanted to find just the right destination for a little romantic "getaway"? We were celebrating our 28th anniversary but could only dedicate a couple of days. The ocean was calling to us! We chose Gold Beach simply because we had never been there. Ireland's made it the right choice. The cheerful lady at the desk checked us in AND the room was everything she said it would be. Clean. Neat. Knotty pine everywhere. The entire spot was romantic. Spas on the beach. The lovely lighthouse to climb. Fire in the fireplace each evening (wood provided). My only suggestion--be sure to take some acrylic paint so you can join the myriad of other people who have painted beach rocks with their names, dates, sentiments about their stay, and lovely pictures. Next time we want to do that, too!

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have a balcony with a wonderful view--and great sound of the surf all nigh...

We stayed in a second floor, very rustic cabin. With a easy chair that must have come in with the original wood. Once you get past the obvious age, it grows on you. Lots and lots of knotty pine, a decent shower and very quiet. Gold Beach is a wonderful area and this was a very affordable stay. We would come back easily.
The check in lady is great. Maybe she was in the movies. Anyway, just fun to talk to.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night in foggy November. Our first trip to the States and a perfect place to stay on our road trip down highway 101. We checked in late to be greeted by some very friendly staff who couldn't be happier to see us, Char is an absolute delight and a credit to your staff. We stayed in an ocean view lodge which is stunning. A lovely smell of pine, enormous room and a working log fire place. We quickly unpacked and made our way to the hot tubs and listened to the crashing waves in the dark. Back in the lodge we curled up in front of the fire and fell asleep straight away! The complimentary breakfast was a pleasant surprise. I couldn't recommend anywhere else but this place to stay.

It is not a good thing when you find your way through the darkness into your funky little wood cabin, turn on the lights, and find that your dog has made a beeline to the bed and has her nose under it, snorting in that mode you know has to do with hunting small four-legged creatures. You wonder what pair of glinting eyes will meet yours when you look underneath and are relieved when it's just a ball that some prior dog owner left behind -- and that apparently wasn't within the range of the housekeeping staff.

Our visit to Ireland's Rustic (no idea about Ireland, but the place is indeed rustic -- very rustic) Lodges began with a lovely encounter with Char, who is straight out of Central Casting for the wisecracking, genial, hard-living (but good-hearted) proprietress of a house of unsavory reputation. She sent us off to the row of little cabins that look like something from a town abandoned decades ago -- dark wood, tiny garage alcoves, dim porch light that you find only after stumbling over the chair on the front porch. Inside is all dark. Carpets, fabrics, walls. The impression of the place is that it is dingy and dirty, but to be honest it was at least surface-clean -- just dark. The bed turned out to be quite good, but the pillows were those terrible foam ones that don't compress and leave you with a sore neck in the morning. Amenities were the absolute minimum, and no hair dryer was in evidence. Breakfast (included) was basic and no more -- but there was plenty of cereal, breads to toast, cereal, bananas, etc.

There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the place (and indeed their other units may be nicer than the funky little cabin we were in) as long as you know you're getting a very basic, no-frills ind of accommodation -- at a very low price.
