We stayed in a Garden Room for 3 days in early June. I knew I wasn't going to have a beach view, but the beach was probably 2 blocks from the room. The resort's property does go all the way to the beach through nicely landscaped grounds. Since we hike a lot, we don't spend a lot of time in the room. Next time, I would just stay in one of the more reasonably priced motels on the highway. The continental breakfast facilities are a real zoo. The food is OK, but there just isn't enough room for people to sit. We were in Gold Beach ahead of the main tourist "high season". Can't imagine what it would be like at that time. If you're just visiting to sit on your deck in a MUCH higher priced room and look at the ocean and visit the spa, this place is probably OK . If you're active and don't spend much time around your room, I think there are a lot of better and more reasonable options in Gold Beach.

We had a nice break from hotel chains at Ireland's Rustic Cottages. Beautiful ground with flowers, gardens, and a beach path. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Watched the sunset over the beach from the jacuzzi. Free breakfast is toast your own Eggo waffles, cereal, and hard boiled eggs. Wi Fi signal was too weak. But we got two connecting rooms for the price of one motel chain room. The extra bathroom, a couch, table, covered parking, and privacy was nice.

I travel often on business domestically and internationally, staying in moderate to luxe boutique and spg-like hotel properities. I have now stayed at Ireland's Rustic Lodges three times and each time I am so delighted to be in the pristine beach environment of this comfortable hotel. We stay in the newer rooms facing the ocean (the garden/dune lies between the hotel rooms and the ocean), usually on the top floor, left corner room, with a view that is marvelous and the ocean fully audible from the bed with the sliding doors open just a bit. Low dunes, beach gorse, paths, and a very well maintained but non-glitz natural environment are at the heart of the experience. The un-fussy but very pleasant wood accented rooms have two lovely recliner chairs facing the stone fireplace (wood or gas, your choice). The bed is just fine and we use and appreciate the amenities of coffee maker, microwave, fridge and a sink outside the shower/toilet bathroom. Pets are welcome in select rooms of the hotel and if my dog knew this, I would be in BIG trouble. The waves, the driftwood piles and art-structures , and the endless coastal vistas provide pets, children, couples, and nature lovers tons of beauty and sea-fun.

Staff are very helpful with river guide, restaurant and other local information.

Ireland's is excellent value for the money, although the continental breakfast should be given a miss. It is a disconnect with the quality of the rest of the hotel experience. There is a wonderful coffee shop/bakery/book store down the road (Rachel's) which completely fills that bill, or the Indian Creek Cafe is a very good full breakfast alternative.

Between the idyllic natural beach setting and the Rogue River fishing and jet boats, Gold Beach has become a destination location for us and Ireland's is a big part of the draw.
Give them a try!

Room Tip: LIke the view of the newer (Seabreeze?) building, top floor.

It was like a hunter's cabin, with iron small fireplace. We came late and it was difficult to find a food, luckily there was a minimart on the road. Coast is wild and beautiful. It was rainy and windy. At the breakfast you can cook a waffle yourself.

Stayed there last Friday & Saturday night. Have been staying at Ireland's for over 30 years. Great rooms and ocean view. Took the jet boat ride on Saturday and when we returned we found that Shannon, our house keeper, had made all the beds, folded all the clothes left on the bed, and all of our snacks were arranged in a row on the counter. The rooms were spotless and really enjoyed the fireplace as it was raining when we arrived. Will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Have stayed in most every section over the years. Depends whether a couple, family group, or with fr...
