We stayed here for two nights at the end of August. The moment we pulled into the lodge, we knew we were in for a treat. The lodge is beautifully decorated and landscaped, our room was the perfect combination of casual and luxurious, the food was delectable, and the service was top notch.

We arrived late on our first night, after the dinner hour started. So we did not experience the family-style dinner. On our second night, we chose to have a romantic dinner on our balcony (for $30 extra - the meal will be served there).

We spent our one full day there exploring the area, hiking the Rogue River Trail, playing pitch 'n putt on the front lawn, and sitting with a good book on adirondack chairs on the lawn overlooking the river.

Other options are the jet boat rides (which people seemed to enjoy immensely), fishing and kayaking on the river.

Bottom line: I highly recommend this marvelous establishment for a long weekend visit. You will decompress quickly and leave with fond memories, I suspect.

We stayed at the Tu Tu Tun in September for two nights on our Oregon Road Trip and can confirm everything that people have said about this hotel but don't take any notice of the negatives because there arent any. I cried when I got there it is so beautiful. Food excellent appetizers to die for and even for us reserved brits sharing a table with another 6 guests was really good fun. Best to eat at the hotel as there is nothing nearby and you have to drive down into Gold Beach to get food. Hosts were lovely and you felt at home it was lovely and relaxing. We caught the Jerrys Jet boats up the river for the day and the hotel provided us with coats (so needed) booked it for us and we caught the boat from the jetty at the hotel. That is a day trip not to be missed. Hotel provides complimentary morning coffee which is delivered on a tray to your door and Kindle also provided. No tea and coffee facilities in the room and no Television so don't stay here if you can't live without it! Best hotel of all the ones we stayed in and 10 out of 10 to the Tu Tu Tun it was an amazing experience thank you!

We found out about this lodge in a booklet on distinguished accommodations. So when we took a two week driving trip in Oregon, we made a point to drive the coast specifically to stay here. I would rank this lodge among the top places I've ever stayed, for many reasons (read Jehesbeth's review--it's spot on). The location on the river and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we could possibly want. (They even sold fishing licenses for the river and loaned us foul weather coats.) Kudos to Terry for an outstanding job of making us feel so welcome. The food was outstanding, including a generous box lunch they packed for our day trip on the river. Everyone has appetizers and dinner at a single seating, with tables of 8. Terry seated us and our friends at a table with the nicest people! It was as if she knew us well.

We had some rain while we were there but it did not deter us from taking a walk along the river, watching the deer on the front lawn, fishing for salmon, or sitting by the fire pit after dinner. I want to go back and use their kayaks right off their dock (they have paddleboards, too). But best of all, you feel so relaxed and pampered staying here.

We are going back for a longer stay next year and I'll be sure to book early! It seems the word is out about this wonderful place.

Room Tip: We had a king room on the second floor with a fireplace. After a day of fishing, we sat in a soaker tub on the balcony and watched the rain on the river. I don't normally feel comfortable using hotel hot tubs, but this tub was immaculate, it filled quickly, and epsom bath salts were provided. I am now a believer!

Do yourself and your loved one a gigantic favor and stay at this beautiful Lodge and Resort. It is totally first class all the way, and the scenery, location and ambiance regenerates your Soul and senses. Every room has a fantastic view of the beautiful Rogue river. Adirondack chairs dot the grassy areas that overlook the Rogue for sipping on wine, coffee or reading your favorite book. There is a lovely heated swimming pool to relax. The restaurant is wonderful and the food delicious. Delectable appetizers are served before dinner, and a wonderful bar with top notch wines and liquors. The rooms are stunning with a lovely deck. The beds are luxurious and gives you the best night sleep. Down pillows and linens are inviting and so comfy. The staff are amazing! They are friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. They know your name within a few hours and make you feel like you are a long lost friend. The Tu Tu Tun is one of the top notch places to stay in the U.S. It has repeatedly received high ratings on Conde Nast, Travel and Leisure and many high end magazines. You will love this place and rejoice in knowing you ar staying there.

Room Tip: The second floor gives you a higher view of the Rogue, although the first floor allows you to walk on the lawn. We've been on both and slightly prefer the second floor. Staying in the middle is our first choice.

Everything about Tu Tu Tun Lodge was designed for comfort, relaxation and fun.
It was a rare opportunity to get so close to the gentle deer who live on the grounds.
Also I loved walking through the herb/vegetable garden. Excellent food, welcoming staff,
-- so serene.
no-tipping policy made me feel more like a guest at a friend's home.
I'd love to return here.
