“Great rooms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2011

We did not eat at the restaurant but the motel room was great. We had driven past several places that looked pretty shady when we spotted the Illahee. Given what we had been seeing, we didn't expect much. To our delight we found a very large, clean room with an up to date bathroom & a walk out patio. The price seemed a titch high for the area but considering our alternatives, it was worth it.

“This place was the so good that we ate there twice. The motel next door looked great too and was newer!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2011

This place was great with marvelous food for breakfast and dinner. The bakery goods was excellent. DON'T PASS THIS PLACE UP. They had live music on Saturday night, but the patio was full, so we couldn't eat our dinner outside to listen to the music.

We have never been disappointed with the Illahee resturant! The food does take a little longer to come out but that is because they prepare it fresh to order. They are always friendly and the atmosphere is pleasent!

“Best eats north of Ashland!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2010

Since my first visit to the Illahee in June, 2008, I've been a devoted fan. I've lived in New York City, Southern California and have traveled the world. The Illahee is one of my favorite hang outs for many reasons:

1. Home made food: amazing ribs, best honey mustard dressing; AWESOME homemade bakery things. My VERY favorite marionberry pie, cookies, great cakes.
2. The food does NOT come from some central headquarters. They have daily specials made by caring, creative chefs.
3. It's fresh and preservative free.
4. The owner is present and sets a high bar for quality and a friendly atmosphere.
5. Conveniently located en route to Diamond and/or Crater Lakes.

They continue to offer excellent quality foods and reasonable prices, open 7 days a week despite the devastating effects The Great Recession has had on Southern Oregon. Sometimes when I go, it's crowded and other times, it's barely occupied. I can see it's probably difficult to figure out how to staff the restaurant sufficiently yet not waste money with lots of staff sitting around. They seem to be walking a fine line, but my money's on the Illahee to be around and going strong when we get to The Great Recovery. Yeah, sometimes I have to wait a little longer than others, but I really WANT this restaurant to survive these hard times and feel a little patience goes a long way.

TIP - if you ARE in a BIG HURRY ... call ahead and place your order. They'll have it ready for you when (or soon after) you arrive to keep you on schedule.
