This was the second time we stayed at the Gearhart Ocean Inn and it is always the highlight of our trip along the stunning Oregon coast. The Inn has everything you need and very tastefully decorated, the way you would do it if it were your own, very comfortable bed and fresh linens, armoire with tv and stereo, gas fired stove, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, dishes coffee/tea, marble bathroom with terry robes. The owners and staff make you feel very welcome, like old friends of the family and they will take care of any little details like making dinner reservations or lend you a video or bikes (no extra cost).
We live in Vancouver, BC, and Gearhart is a comfortable days drive away. Gearhart defines the perfect sleepy hamlet with a corner grocery and fabulous restaurant/bakery at the Pacific Way Cafe across the street. It is just a short walk to the beach. If you want shopping or more lively touristy activities, the towns of Seaside and Cannon Beach are just a few minutes drive away. But we love the peace and quiet of this cozy community. We look forward to coming back.

Room Tip: This is a pet friendly place but they also have non pet rooms so let them know if you have a dog and and they will be able to accommodate your whole family.

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend. The room was beautiful, cozy and clean. It was great that bikes, clam digging stuff and a video library were all included. It isn't on the beach but it is a short walk or bike ride to get to the beach.
The town of Gearhart is a quiet beach town with beautiful houses and a great beach. The Ocean Inn is a perfect fit.
We'll definitely go back.

The staff was very thoughtful. The cottage was very clean, nice, and cozy. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. The beach isn't necessarily right out your back door, but you can walk a little ways down to it. For the price and experience you definitely get at least your money's worth and more. I feel to fully take advantage of everything the inn has to offer it would be worth staying multiple days. We had a great stay and I highly recommend the Gearhart Ocean Inn!

Friends from Seattle have been coming here for 12 yrs. & we finally got to meet them for an incredible weekend. Our dog had his best vacation- as the city is very dog friendly and he loved his basket in our cottage with food bowls, blankets, & treats. The cottage had very comfortable beds & linens-even our kids in the bunk bed room appreciated that. Everything we needed for a bonfire & s'mores was available, the new tennis courts a few blocks away were great, the bikes we used were fun for the beach & road, the cozy stove was perfect for warming up & reading, etc. I could continue but will sum it up as one of the best family vacations we've had with our 9, 12, 15 & 17 yr. olds!

We have been coming here for many years and every year it is better than the past. Our room was clean and well stocked. We had a fire one night, we tried out their beach cruisers one day and enjoyed as many pastries from the awesome bakery across the street every chance we got. My dog would run in the ocean and then come back and curl up next to the gas stove the happiest dog in the world. Don't come here though or I will never be able to get another reservation!
