Even on a rainy Oregon day,a trip to the Garibaldi Museum and a ride on the steam train is fun. If you have grandkids, especially if they have not been to a museum or ridden on a train, this is well worth the time. It is not fancy, but it is interesting and fun. Check it out!

It's absolutely worth the stop when driving thru the area. It will inform you about coastal living and the area history and allow you to stretch your legs for only a few $$.

Gr8 info on the history of the area. Kids can dress-up as pirates, build a wooden boat and enjoy other interactive exhibits. Kudos to those that put it together.

This is a very educational and interesting museum for all ages. Kids will especially love all of the sea gear.

Informative small museum. Nice friendly people/guides. Kids liked the exhibits and there were a few things for them to get their hands on and do.

The museum in Garibaldi is small but well worth stopping to see. It tells of the towns history, 18th century local maritime history and of Cpt. Robt. Gray's history. Cpt. Gray "discovered" the Columbia River in 1792. The Museum has interactive and static displays. They also have a large firearms display that spans from the late 1700's through WWII. Also nearby is Lumberman's Park which has a 1926 Baldwin Mikado steam engine and several railcars. The museum is visible from hwy 101 and is located at 112 Garibaldi Ave. Phone# 503-322-8411 or 804-355-3019. The hours are:10AM-4PM April-November,Thurs-Mon.Adults $3.00, Seniors and children5-18 $2.50, under 5yrs are free.
