This lovely boutique hotel in Garibaldi OR was recommended by my fishing guide but it was anything but a fishing shack. The owners, Carol and Gene, have completely refurbished an old Comfort Inn into a classy destination you'll want to return to as soon as possible. It's a small, boxy 3-story motel on the outside, but once you walk through the front doors a new experience emerges. The front desk employees are welcoming and friendly, a cozy fire is burning, and wonderful afternoon snacks of summer sausage, local cheeses, Gene's world famous clam chowder, tasty crackers, cookies, popcorn and salt water taffy are beautifully presented for your enjoyment as you settle into comfortable leather couches. Daily local newspapers are scattered about to keep you up to date with the news. The paint is fresh and the windows are clean. It smells like home, if your home is immaculate. Your room is fresh with comfortable beds and cozy linens, the bathroom is sparkling with a good showerhead, clean tub, sanitized toilet, and spa-grade cosmetics and soaps are provided. Breakfast is served starting at 5:00 am, a great convenience for fishermen or travelers wanting an early start, and is a complete buffet featuring a couple of types of real scrambled eggs, link sausages, potatoes, waffles, pork sausage gravy and what appeared to be home baked biscuits, mini-muffins, pastries, breads, juice, assorted cereals and, of course, delicious coffee that always seems freshly brewed. Carol and Gene are always around, cheerful and attentive, and wanting to make the hotel as pleasant as possible. Carol even tries to bribe you with wonderful chocolates, something quite unnecessary but extremely welcome. The rates are a bargain too! Don't miss this wonderful location.

By great luck, we stayed the night at the Garibaldi Inn in Garibaldi, Oregon. This is an extremely nice, well-appointed, friendly, clean, comfortable Inn which serves snacks in the late afternoon - including excellent home-made clam chowder. The owner-chef makes almost all of the breakfast from scratch. What a delicious meal! He is friendly and will share his recipes. The mattresses are outstanding. They have a pool, jacuzzi and dry sauna too. And, it's NOT expensive!

We purchased a two night package through Living Social. The hotel is very clean and the staff is quite friendly. Very accommodating. The hot breakfast offered in the morning is fantastic - my husband was all over it.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. The bed was a bit uncomfortable though. I kind of sank into my side while my husband's side of the bed was firmer. The sound on our TV was awful. It was stuck on "surround" with no way to change it. If there was background noise in a movie or TV show, you couldn't hear the actors speaking. It was very odd. Not a big issue, but if it had been raining and we were indoors more, it would have become a bigger issue.

Our room was next to the elevator, vending machine room and laundry room (they have laundry facilities available to guests - at a charge - but what a nice feature for those on road trips). It was a tad noisy being next to all these high traffic and noise generating machines, but the noise never went on for long. I kind of wondered if we were placed here because we were on a Living Social package.

Not much to do in the town of Garibaldi, but that was okay. We were up and down the Coast like crazy people checking out little towns, beaches, antique stores, etc.

The happy hour snacks they offer are also a wonderful treat. We highly recommend this property.

Room Tip: They have laundry facilities, which is great if you're on a road trip. We were placed next to t...

We stayed at GHI&S for a long weekend. Everything was wonderful - from the staff, food, accomodations, etc. Nice ambiance in lobby, clean rooms, pleasant staff. We will definitely recommend GHI&S to friends.

We used a Living Social deal and loved our stay at the Garibaldi House Inn & Suites this past weekend. Check-in was quick and very informative. Our room was neat, clean and included a microwave, coffee maker, and small refrigerator in case one would like to stash cold drinks for later, but we actually didn't need to. In the small, but cozy lobby you'll find comfortable leather sofas, dishes of salt water taffy, a warm inviting fireplace, Tillamook Cheese, sausage and crackers, fresh popcorn, animal crackers and icy cold cucumber water.
At five o'clock on Friday, a large pot of steaming hot clam chowder accompanied by pepper cheese biscuits arrived for Happy Hour. Saturday we were treated to delicious pulled pork (rubbed and smoked for 4 days) sliders and toppings. If you still have room for dinner, try the little restaurant at the end of the marina, "... Korner" for their scrumptious (fresh-caught) fish and chips; YUM!
The morning breakfasts were another fabulous treat: make-your-own crispy waffles, cereal, fresh mixed fruit, bagels, muffins, hard boiled eggs, 2 types of scrambled eggs, Puerto Rican hash browns, salsa, biscuits and gravy. Our chef/host quietly kept the small batches of food coming so it was always fresh.
We highly recommend staying in this special hotel...especially if you plan to crab or schedule a deep sea fishing trip from the nearby marina. Guests were sharing stories of everyone in their fishing party bringing in 2 Ling Cod each and coolers full of fresh Dungeness Crab.
You'll love the Garibaldi Inn's hospitality and the close proximity to either Tillamook, Mazanita or Cannon Beach.
We'll be back!!

Room Tip: If you're on the third floor and facing the harbor, you might be able to see the water and a sun...

I was part of a group that stayed for 4 nights at GHI&S while we worked in the area last summer and could not be more pleased with the quality of our stay. The staff was friendly, courteous, and accomodating which made our stay very pleasant. They even had breakfast and coffee ready for us at 4:30AM so that we could get a comfortable start to our early morning work. The rooms were very clean, sufficiently appointed to meet all reasonable needs, and the beds in my room were very comfortable. And the price was very, very reasonable. After looking at several hotels and motels in the area, I think this is easily the best one within a 25+ mile radius.
