The Crater Lake Resort is a very nice place to stay if you are in the Klamath area. There are other accommodations north of Klamath Lake and south of Crater Lake, but this is the nicest, IMHO. I especially like the grounds which are family friendly and sit on a nice little creek. Walk to the back of the resort and there are horseshoe pits, swings for the kids, and a bridge across the water. My cabin was cozy and pretty basic, but overall it was nice. There was no cable TV or phone in the room however (you can still rent and watch movies). The kitchen and bath were adequate. This was a studio, and everything - bed, kitchen etc were all together in one room. That was my only complaint - not having a separate living area. But overall, I give the resort high marks. The area is kind of remote and so it was nice to have groceries on the premises. Locating groceries otherwise was problematic - Fort Klamath, the nearest town (if you could call it that) has no stores other than another "grocery-in-a-motel" type thing. But the remoteness was not a problem for me - the area is a great place to get away - hike, camp, birdwatch, take photos, etc. I hope to be back and when I do, I will stay in the same resort. But I will close with one small request for the owner - OK, here it is: can you maybe rehang that map of Coos Bay in the kitchen so that it is not on an angle!!?? :) (cabin 3)....
