“Loved the A frame cabin”
Reviewed July 31, 2007

While visiting Crater Lake NP we ended up at the Aspen Inn since all lodging in the park was full. We had a great A frame cabin, queen bed on the first floor and two twin beds on the second floor, perfect for a family of four. The room was clean and comfortable. The inn keepers were very friendly and helpful. It was a great place to stay, convenient to the park plus different from all the chain motels!

The wife and I spent one night at the Aspen Inn. The owners were wonderful! It was two weeks before our 39th Wedding Anniversary. We were given a bottle of Sparkling Cider to celebrate the event. The entire time we were there, we never once were treated as guests but rather as part of their family including getting a hug on departure.

We just happened to see the motel as we're driving up to Crater Lake so decided to check for rooms. Sure am glad we did! I've been telling everybody I meet that if they want a good clean room close to the lake at a decent price and a very friendly atmosphere, this is the only place to stay. I would reccomend this place to my very best of friends. It just doesn't get any better!

By Steve Moreland; Euless, TX. The Crater Lake Lodge was naturally unavailable, as usual, so we thought we would just have to settle for something. So we booked two nights at Aspen Inn and are really glad we did. The location is only a few miles south of the National Park in a beautiful, quiet area. We had suite No. 8, an A-frame structure that fit naturally in the setting. There was enough room for all our bags, the bed was comfortable and the shower (no tub) was just fine for my wife and I. If you're traveling with kids, there was even a loft upstairs, which was really cool.

The owners were really welcoming and helpful and told us about some local activities, like the loggers' breakfast. There is coffee and hot water/tea for those cool mornings. And at under $100 per night, you can't beat the price.

  • Liked — Value for the price
  • Disliked — Only 3 channels on the TV
  • Tips/Secrets — The Logger's Breakfast only happens once per year, early September

I arrived late and there was no room at the Crater Lodge or the Mazama Village Inn. The reservation guy at Mazama called the Aspen Inn and set me up.
I got the single small room. The room and bath were clean, there was a seperate room with table, refigerator, sink and micro wave. It was great, and the price was good also.
