This place is a nice little gem close to Crater Lake. Heidi, the owner and operator, is a wonderful host. Very friendly and helpful. She gave us helpful tips on the Crater Lake experience, recommended restaurants, and gave us mosquito spray for our hikes.

We stayed in an A-frame unit which was nice and cozy. The bed is comfortable. The TV only has 1 channel, but we didn't care. WiFi is free and works decently. The shower has good water pressure (always important). Just beware, that you have to use fans to cool down as there is no AC. At night, it's cold, so bundle up.

It's a 30 minute drive to Crater Lake which is not that far. The drive there is nice and the time passes quickly.

I highly recommend the Aspen Inn. Stay here and say hi to Heidi for us.

Heidi is awesome...let's just start with that. She was pleasant and helpful on the phone when making the reservation...charming and personable when we arrived. She loves where she is and what she's doing and it shows in everything about the Aspen Inn.

We stayed in one of the A-Frames...one Queen downstairs and two twin beds upstairs. The accommodations are a little tight but we weren't tripping over each-other. They have Internet through satellite so don't expect to stream video but it worked fine for facebook and trip research. There were enough outlets for our devices to charge. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean and inviting. They offer free coffee, various teas, and hot cocoa in the morning.

That's all nice but what really sets this place apart is the mood...we sat out talking to our "neighbors" in the evening while some kids were swinging on the swings and playing in the yard...felt much more like a B&B than a motel. It's only a few miles to the entrance to Crater Lake so it is a great alternative to staying in the park.

I would book here again in a second! Enjoy your trip!!

The Aspen Inn was our home away from home on our recent trip to Crater Lake. Heidi made us feel like family. The Inn is unique, charming, and clean as a whistle! We hope to travel this way again, and will be sure to recommend The Aspen Inn to friends and family.

We were very pleased with our stay at The Aspen Inn. The owner, Heidi, greeted us with a handshake, made a point to learn our names, and was extremely friendly. We stayed one night in one of the A-frame cabins that had a queen bed downstairs and two twin beds upstairs. The cabin was very clean and charming. Although we didn't use them, the cabin included a refrigerator and a microwave that certainly would come in handy for travelers spending more than one day in the area. The cabin was initially very warm inside; however, fans were provided and the cabin cooled down to a very comfortable level at night.

Some reviewers indicated disappointment in terms of television availability. The cabin had a TV that received only one channel (NBC), but that didn't bother us at all. If we had wanted to waste time watching TV, we could have stayed home. There's so much to see in Crater Lake National Park and the surrounding areas that we didn't want to miss.

When we checked out, Heidi was very helpful in offering suggestions for places to eat breakfast. Heidi also assisted us in determining the best scenic route to our next destination.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at The Aspen Inn and highly recommend it.

The owner, Heidi, has a quaint place backed up to the woods. Some are hotel rooms and some are A Frame two story rooms. The grounds and rooms are kept up with pride. In the evenings we sat out on the grassy area and met some other travelers. It is about 15 minutes from Crater Lake.

There is very little dining in Klamath, so be prepared to drive or bring food with you.

Room Tip: The A Frame rooms are very quaint with a queen bed downstairs and two twin beds up in the loft. It...

We only stays here one night but we were happy:

It is not far to drive to Crater lake, about 30 minutes to the view point.
It is affordable price for a short time stay compares to stay in park which only saves 20 minutes driving.
There is no AC in room and the TV with only one channel in our room was not working.
It gets really hot during day time but it cools down after 2am.
Check-in time is only until 10pm. so prepare to be there early. Check-out time is 10am.
Wifi signal is pretty week if you stay far away from reception room. Try to get room number as lower as you can if you care to surf online.
