The Aspen Inn was our home away from home on our recent trip to Crater Lake. Heidi made us feel like family. The Inn is unique, charming, and clean as a whistle! We hope to travel this way again, and will be sure to recommend The Aspen Inn to friends and family.

Just a shout out to Heidi for her quaint and wonderful little place in the country. We arrived late and was able to get a room. Very clean and comfortable .....and oh yea very reasonable. You have a great place there and if we ever come this way again....will definitely plan to stay. The Sawyers from Texas City

We were very pleased with our stay at The Aspen Inn. The owner, Heidi, greeted us with a handshake, made a point to learn our names, and was extremely friendly. We stayed one night in one of the A-frame cabins that had a queen bed downstairs and two twin beds upstairs. The cabin was very clean and charming. Although we didn't use them, the cabin included a refrigerator and a microwave that certainly would come in handy for travelers spending more than one day in the area. The cabin was initially very warm inside; however, fans were provided and the cabin cooled down to a very comfortable level at night.

Some reviewers indicated disappointment in terms of television availability. The cabin had a TV that received only one channel (NBC), but that didn't bother us at all. If we had wanted to waste time watching TV, we could have stayed home. There's so much to see in Crater Lake National Park and the surrounding areas that we didn't want to miss.

When we checked out, Heidi was very helpful in offering suggestions for places to eat breakfast. Heidi also assisted us in determining the best scenic route to our next destination.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at The Aspen Inn and highly recommend it.

The owner, Heidi, has a quaint place backed up to the woods. Some are hotel rooms and some are A Frame two story rooms. The grounds and rooms are kept up with pride. In the evenings we sat out on the grassy area and met some other travelers. It is about 15 minutes from Crater Lake.

There is very little dining in Klamath, so be prepared to drive or bring food with you.

Room Tip: The A Frame rooms are very quaint with a queen bed downstairs and two twin beds up in the loft. It...

We only stays here one night but we were happy:

It is not far to drive to Crater lake, about 30 minutes to the view point.
It is affordable price for a short time stay compares to stay in park which only saves 20 minutes driving.
There is no AC in room and the TV with only one channel in our room was not working.
It gets really hot during day time but it cools down after 2am.
Check-in time is only until 10pm. so prepare to be there early. Check-out time is 10am.
Wifi signal is pretty week if you stay far away from reception room. Try to get room number as lower as you can if you care to surf online.

Let’s start with the good stuff;
The Aspen Inn is a truly affordable hotel. In fact, it’s one of the lowest priced accommodations in the area. (There are three other options: another inn at Ft. Klamath, the hostel at the entrance to the Park, or the deluxe lodge at Crater Lake itself). It is a good home base for visiting Crater Lake National Park. The Aspen Inn is located only 7 miles from the park entrance. It is perfectly clean, well maintained and has a very friendly staff. The area is very quiet with hardly any traffic nearby.

Now, the not so good stuff:
Rooms have only the bare bone amenities needed for overnight stays. They come with a few towels, bar of soap, bed, refrigerator microwave, but no coffee maker. No breakfast is offered, but coffee is available at the front desk. No restaurants in town. No gas stations either. There is just a small grocery store that closes around 8 PM that also offers a vegetarian menu.

Conclusion: Good low budget place to stay if you accept this inn “as is”.

Stayed here for two nights with family of three. Very good price/quality. Nice and clean room, nice location close to Crater Lake NP, quiet and very friendly and helpfull owner. Gave us advise on multiple things. The service is (one of) the best we had so far. Heidi: Thank you for the nice stay!

Tip: Have breakfast at Beckies in Prospect and try out El Rodeo for dinner,
