This is a lovely old home that has been converted to a bed & breakfast. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. They had a binder with lots of useful information on the B&B and the area. Because its large, you don't have a choice of breakfast time, but it worked out well for us. The breakfast was fabulous, 5 courses, all delicious. After breakfast the host gives you the low down on all the worthwhile sights in the area. Very helpful. My husband's only complaint was that the furnishings were a bit frou frou for him and it was a bit early for Christmas decorations. Its really a great place to stay and the other guests were fun to chat with over breakfast.

Once again, an absolutely wonderful bed and breakfast experience. Marv and Laurie extended their gift of hospitality to us and it was a genuine blessing to all who stayed with us. The breakfast is truly an outstanding culinary experience and the special touches throughout (afternoon fresh baked cookies, etc) our stay made for a memorable experience and the Garden Room is a real treat, inside and out!

Thanks Marv & Laurie!

We arrived late one evening without reservations and were welcomed with a friendly, warm smile, and the good news that they had one room left. It was outside the main house, an entire comfortable and spacious apartment upstairs. Marv and Laurie were gracious hosts and went out of their way to make our 2-day stay delightful.

We recently stayed at the Edwin K in the Autumn and Indian Summer rooms. We were very pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our stay.

Marv, the innkeeper, is as nice as can be and has wonderful stories and information about the area, as well as the history of the house. It's an old Sears Roebuck Craftsman, and he's done a great job of collecting materials for those interested in learning more. I really enjoyed hearing about the house and seeing an old Sears catalog and some of the models of other houses for sale.

The house itself is beautifully kept with an immaculate flower garden in the front. Marv said he was working on painting the house, too, but I couldn't understand what he'd be painting because it was white on the outside and looked like it had just been cleaned and painted. The inside was also spotless and decorated with a lot of detail yet comfortable. We checked in and enjoyed some hot apple cider and cookies in the living room before strolling some of the shops of Old Town Florence, which are within easy distance of the B&B. Marv and his wife have collected lots of information about local businesses and even negotiated discounts with many of them for people staying at the inn. We took his recommendation for a restaurant for dinner and had a free dessert by showing them our room key.

Besides being clean and charming, the rooms were very comfortable. The two rooms we had each had a mini fridge, which was perfect for cheese we'd bought on cheese tours. They had comfortable beds, mattresses and pillows, as well as tubs with nice bath products and towels. And they had fast, free wireless internet - which is always a huge plus for me!

The breakfast was outstanding and enormous - probably the biggest I have ever had! It is all served on lovely china and coursed as if it's a nice dinner. Marv will tell you about some of the area attractions to the north and south and the food was excellent. We are vegetarian and were stuffed by the time we finished.

We would definitely come back and stay here in a heartbeat. If nothing else, we would come back for the charming owners who made us feel like old friends.

Mariyln and I really enjoyed our stay at EdwinK on July 4th. Marv & Laurie were great hosts, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was the best we've had at a B&B.

The view of the dunes and the Siuslaw River were fantastic. We definitely recommend EdwinK if you have the good fortune to visit Florence, OR

Stayed at the Edwin K as our first coastal stop in Oregon, and were not disappointed. Stepped in, and were impressed - the inn is beautiful, and the hospitality from Marv and Laurie was top notch. We stayed in the Indian Summer room - the room was comfortable with a nice open shower and jacuzzi tub. The bathroom is not separated from the bedroom, other than by a small half-wall, which worked fine for us (we looked at other rooms that have a completely separate bath, btw).

Marv and Laurie are great hosts. On the first morning, Marv gave the complete lowdown on the house and its history (it was a Sears Craftsman house, which he explained was ordered nearly 100 years ago via the Sears and Roebuck catalog), and things to do in the area. And, the breakfasts were amazing! Five courses each morning, with homemade jams, fresh fruit, and resturant-quality food - it was great!

The location is excellent as well. It is literally at the end of the Florence Old Town district, so you can walk to the shops and resturants. And it looks directly on the river out of the front side of the house.

We were impressed, and would recommend the inn to all.

My friend and I meet once a year to catch up on family and friends. We live about 5 hours apart and Florence is in the middle. We have been coming for four years and Marv and Laurie make us feel like family. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast is beyond description. It is the best get away you could ever ask for. Once you try it you will look forward to coming back again and again.
Thank you Marv and Laurie for pampering us.
