Description: We feature. We offer a full-service bar with a variety of regional and international wines as well as a selection of exciting martinis and specialty drinks, like Bill's Flaming Spanish Coffee, to compliment your meal. From the sophistication of our house favorite, Crab Encrusted Halibut, to the cozy warm satisfaction of our burger and fries, you're sure to find a dish to fit your desires at The Waterfront Depot. We use only the best local, organic beef and free-range chicken in our entrees. Our skilled culinary staff prepares all our menu items daily, guaranteeing you the freshest, most flavorful experience on the Central Oregon Coast. Atmosphere. Nestled on the river's shore, we offer a warm, cozy view of the Siuslaw River and the Siuslaw River bridge. Summer dining cafe-style outdoors on our weathered patio seats you right at the water's edge. Year-round dining inside offers you a beautiful river view with an urban touch, a perfect place for winter storm watching. Our history. The Waterfront Depot is housed in the old Mapleton Train Station. Saved from demolition over 40 years ago, this historic building found its new home on the shore of the Siuslaw river a stone's throw from the Siuslaw River Bridge. The old train station's warm, classic qualities offer a perfect counter balance to the sophisticated, urban atmosphere I've created in The Waterfront Depot.

Delightful, delicious menu with sea dishes and great steak... as well as wonderful salads...the people were absolutely wonderful as was the service and the food.... definitely need reservations - ask for a view of the river.. make your dinner for around sunset... hard to beat the view of the bridge and the river at sunset.

We stopped by because of top rating on Trip Advisor, although we did not have a reservation we decided to try our luck. Upon stepping into narrow and cramped entrance I noticed lighting to be relatively dark (I personally like being able to see what I am eating). The bespectacled young lady who "greeted" us asked "How can I help you?" in a rather unfriendly tone. Since my family and I were obviously there for dinner I thought that question to be either dumb or a sign she wanted us to leave. After we told her the obvious that we were there for dinner, she informed us that we would have to wait ~about an hour. So we left and went across the street to Restobar for a wonderfully delicious meal served graciously to us by a pleasant waitress.

This is by far the most popular restaurant in Florence! We got right in at 8:00 on a Wednesday evening, although we had to sit & eat at the bar. It was well worth it. We returned the following evening & weren't so fortunate. We had to drive around for 45 mins. & couldn't even get into the waiting area. The owner & staff are very attentive. We had the Pasta Jambalaya & Seafood Linguine ( which was mega delicious) the first night. The menu we looked at didn't have the pepper sign next to the jambalaya, & it was delicious but too hot for me. The next night we got the crab encrusted halibut (it was to die for) & the seafood linguine again, but since it was already 9:30 the alfredo sauce in the linguine dish was watered down & not very tasty. There is a nice view of the river from every seat - including the bar. The prices are very reasonable.

A very popular place for a reason. the food was excellent, service friendly, and the prices were very good.... most dinners were around $15. Best meal of our trip. It stays booked so get a reservation. Or do what we did, get in line when it opens at 4:00 and get a seat at the bar (which was nice.... very friendly bar tender). The crab encrusted halibut w/ chili cream sauce was great

Everyone i spoke to said you've got to eat here. The staff were great and friendly. I was warned to go late as i was told they like to turn tables over quickly. I had oysters to start and they were amazing, followed by a recommendation of fish encased in crab, again several people said try it, honestly it was tad bland and wish i had had something else. All locals use it so must be good.
