Description: We feature. We offer a full-service bar with a variety of regional and international wines as well as a selection of exciting martinis and specialty drinks, like Bill's Flaming Spanish Coffee, to compliment your meal. From the sophistication of our house favorite, Crab Encrusted Halibut, to the cozy warm satisfaction of our burger and fries, you're sure to find a dish to fit your desires at The Waterfront Depot. We use only the best local, organic beef and free-range chicken in our entrees. Our skilled culinary staff prepares all our menu items daily, guaranteeing you the freshest, most flavorful experience on the Central Oregon Coast. Atmosphere. Nestled on the river's shore, we offer a warm, cozy view of the Siuslaw River and the Siuslaw River bridge. Summer dining cafe-style outdoors on our weathered patio seats you right at the water's edge. Year-round dining inside offers you a beautiful river view with an urban touch, a perfect place for winter storm watching. Our history. The Waterfront Depot is housed in the old Mapleton Train Station. Saved from demolition over 40 years ago, this historic building found its new home on the shore of the Siuslaw river a stone's throw from the Siuslaw River Bridge. The old train station's warm, classic qualities offer a perfect counter balance to the sophisticated, urban atmosphere I've created in The Waterfront Depot.

Crab Encrusted Halibut. Don't even bother eating anything else (though I'm sure it's all delicious!). This meal has turned me into a believer of seafood. I've never enjoyed a restaurant meal as much as I did this one. We were able to get reservations near the window, just lovely. The owner is a delight to speak to as well! GO, GO, GO! You won't regret this meal.

“Casual fine dining”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

Fit us in with reservations (it was either 4:00 or after 8:30) as walk-ins in the know swarmed at the 4:00 opening. One of the best pieces of fish I enjoyed on our coast trip with service to match.

Great sea food and very reasonable prices. Lucked out with a last minute reservation. A ittle heavy with the garlic. Large portions.

“So so”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

It looked great on paper with great prices, but frankly it was just so so. They have really good prices but my halibut was dosed in sweet sauce, I literally had to push aside the sauce as it overpowered and over sweetened the fish. The mussels as appatezier was the highlight and excellent. Their bread is very good as well. The other main entree we got was the steak, and it was undercooked, and not very flavorful. The same for the mashed potatoes it came with. The dessert, which were the Mexican chocolate cake and the tres leches were not remarkable either. Tres Leches was too dry. Mexican chocolate cake was better, but super sweet. That might be ok for some of you. I feel really bad not giving a good review, as it is a lovely space, but it is what it is.
