Owner description: It’s a crisp, dewy morning on the Oregon Coast, a perfect day to spend at Ocean Dunes Golf Links. The smell of fresh cut grass wafts up as you look down at an immaculately white golf ball resting on the tee. You take a breath, pulling your arms back, and swing through, following the ball with your gaze as it soars out over a gorgeous expanse of green between swaths of windswept Coastal forest. The ball disappears in the sunshine; now is the moment of truth. If today’s your day you’ll watch that little ball drop right down onto the green (or even right into the hole!); if not, you might hear the dreaded and familiar “plop.” Whether you’re on your game or not, the setting is so beautiful, you’ll have a great time even if you land your ball into a sand trap or water hazard. You may even have the time of your life, and become one of our hole-in-one hall of famers. Welcome to Ocean Dunes Golf Links Looking to do some golfing on the central Oregon Coast? Look no further than Ocean Dunes Golf Links. Located in Florence, this course is a favorite for locals and travelers alike. With a unique course layout, breathtaking scenery, and a few unexpected turns here and there, visitors will enjoy a challenging and exhilarating golf experience. Complete with a clubhouse with snack bar, 18 fun and exciting holes, carts available for rental, and a vista of dunes, mountains and forests, your experience at Ocean Dunes Golf Links will be unlike any other.

My view is that every golf course is worth playing once and many are worth a return visit. Ocean Dunes falls into the first category.
It is poorly designed and poorly maintained. Bad combination. To make up for its very short yardage, it substitutes blind shots, hidden hazards, and other forms of trickery. Play it if you like but don't expect much.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. Since taking over operations this year the Three Rivers Casino & Hotel has been making improvements to pretty much every issue you mentioned. Our goal is to continue to make the course more user friendly and an overall more enjoyable experience. We can't do it all at once but we're working everyday on those improvements you mentioned. Thanks and we hope to see you again soon.

A challenging course due to narrow fairways that is fairly short in terms of yardage. In summer, it is best played in the early morning before the afternoon wind comes up. There are times in winter when the sun shines and the wind is absent, and this is an ideal time to play the course also.

We didn't enjoy this course. It was reasonable, but not very well maintained. Looks like it has seen better days. Staff were great!

I've played this course about 7-8 times over the past 5-6 years. Since the casino has taken over its management it has gotten better. The pro has asked his maintenance crews to open it up some by thinning trees and shrubs. They have also been re-seeding many of the tee boxes. It's a tight course and course knowledge really helps while playing it. I can see why some reviews here are negative, but those may be from players who have only played the course once. If it's your first time, put your driver away and play with your 3 wood instead. Doing that makes this course great fun. I used to play Sandpines when I go to Florence, but now I like to play Ocean Dunes instead.
