Owner description: Beautiful and remote lighthouse.

I understand the closure is over though I have to admit that over the decades I have never attempted to even get close. I like the view approaching from the north and the south. I think it is the prettiest lighthouse on the Oregon coast which might have do do with the setting. I haven't met the ghost or stayed in the adjoining B&B. On a clear day you can see quite a distance though hundreds of miles is a little optimistic.

Beautiful lighthouse at a dramatic location halfway up a head. Beach area where the trail to the lighthouse begins also includes one of those famous Oregon bridges. And only a few hundred yards from Sea Lion cave. This area is one of the best on the Coast

The volunteer that gave the tour of the light house was informative and interesting! loved it! The knowledge of the past and the restoration of the light house was intriguing. Enough for me to buy a book.

I loved this lighthouse! After paying our $5 park fee, we wandered down to the beach for a few minutes, took in the beautiful view of the freeway bridge and then trekked up the path to the lighthouse. The walk is the perfect incline and distance to feel like you are getting a bit if exercise without draining your energy. We passed up the light keeper's house (which is now a bed and breakfast!) and the gift shop in order to make the tour in time (they run from 11am-3pm).

Once we got to the top, we were met by the picture perfect light house (the whole thing has just been completely repainted and restored). The day was foggy and gray which only added to the ambiance. We took the free guided tour and were allowed to go inside and almost to the top. It took about 15 minutes.

Afterward, we enjoyed a bit of bird watching and a leisurely walk back to our car.

We just stopped at a vista point to take some shots, but everyone who has seen them says it's beautiful. What a lovely memory.
