“Cool Hike better beach!”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

The hike was pretty easy. We did it with a 5, 10 and 11 year old. The beach is great. Had very few people, nice tide pools and it's big. The kids enjoyed the beach, tide pools and climbing the rocks and sand hills.

“magical”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This trail has lots of little areas that my daughter and I could picture fairies camping in. At the bottom was a very pretty beach to walk on with minimal people on it. A strenuous hike from the beach back up to the road, but well worth it!

“BEST 1/2 Mile Hike! Great for little kids, big kids too!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is a 1/2 mile hike just north of the Heceta Head Lighthouse. There is no sign but you will see a large parking area on the right side of the HWY. Park here and cross the highway, you will see a trail. Just a few yards down the trail there will be a sign here. Go right to head down to the beach, go left to visit the Heceta Head Lighthouse (1 1/2 miles). The trail to the beach is fairly easy...just watch out for those tree roots in the path. =) We take our two girls, ages 4 and 2 down here frequently and they both walk the entire way. Once at the beach let the exploring begin! There are sand cliffs, streams, rocks, sand dunes to climb up and run down, and if the tide is low enough maybe a few tide pools to explore. Our girls can spend hours here and be completely content. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

“Unique path leads to wonderful beach!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

I love the hobbit trails and the beach that they lead to. I have been going there for many years! It has not changed and I am always pleasantly surprised to emerge from the enclosed trails to the wide, open beach.

“Great little trail”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

This is a fun little trail for the casual walker/hiker. Very easy and ends up at the ocean in a secluded little area. Don't just drive along looking for a sign though. Do your homework on the location because this isn't the easiest to find. Definately recommend.
