We were looking for breakfast at 7 am, and all the likely diners we had scouted the night before were not yet open. So we took a chance on the beachcomber tavern, a typical bar right on water street. We found a booth, ordered our meals, and took in the barstool ambience. Our expectations were pretty low.
When the food came out we were all pleasantly surprised. My four-egg omelette was filled with good quality ham and swiss cheese, my wife's poached eggs were cooked perfectly, and my son's huevos rancheros were pleasantly spicy. We rolled out of there completely full to start the day.
Others have reviewed the bar menu for dinner, bit I can attest that if you don't mind sitting with some of the local color, you will have a good and plentiful breakfast.
