“if beers your thing, this is where you want to be”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

We always eat here when we're in Old Town Florence, but the food was a little disappointing this time. My chicken strips were a little dry (though they were skinless, which makes it harder to keep the meat moist). We still enjoyed our lunch, if only to read about what a "growler" is, and how much a refill costs. We got there a little after one, but it had a steady business until we left an hour and a half later. This place is always busy. It has an interesting decor. None of the tables match any of the others, either in style or size, so it makes for an interesting look, what with all the tap handles and growlers on display. They have somewhere between 12 -20 (mainly microbrews) on tap, and also sell a "sampler" for $6.50, so if beers your thing, this is the place to go. Prices are middle of the road on the beer and food.

“Florence's own People Pub”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

This is where the locals go. Lots of beer to select from and recently they added growlers. Large portions of good food served relatively quickly. It'll get really busy sometimes and naturally, you'll wait a bit. This isn't for Big City folk as they are in a rush to do everything. It's laid back, a bit noisy at times, maybe catch a fight late at night, but all-in-all, a fun place to spend time with friends or even meet new ones.

“A place for bikers and senior citizens”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

Yes, it's a strange mixture. The place appeals to the younger bar crowd, especially at night. Then the tasty dishes at bargain prices bring in local pensioners. At different times of the day you'd not believe that you were in the same place. They have one of the biggest selections of microbrews that you would ever see in a small town. Of note to me is the clam chowder made from the owner's family recipe and is the best that I have ever have. Service is great. The place is primarily a beer bar and carries that atmosphere if that is a concern to you.

“Great spot for beer, w a friendly bartender”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Saw other reviews on trip advisor so we stopped in, they have a huge selection of beer and the bartender told us the clam chowder was great (I'd say not bad) , we sat at the bar where we decided we didn't want anything else after watching what seemed to be the head chef texting handling food but never washing his hands, sad part was many thing went from the fridge to microwave to plate..... Not my idea of fresh
