“Good food, nice place”
Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

A friend from Eugene recommended Cafe Soriah and we enjoyed the place and the food. The standout was our experience waiting for a table at the bar. The person next to me was having a lamb burger that smelled divine. Then the bartender made a Spanish coffee, a drink I had never heard of. First the heat a large stemmed wine glass with hot water. Pour that out, squeeze orange around the rim of the glass and then dip it in sugar. Add white rum and light it till it flames good. Then add three more kinds of rum, then the coffee. Top with three dollops of whipped cream (NOT from a can). We came back the next night late and ordered just the Spanish coffee, a lamb burger, and a mushroom appetizer (in puff pastry) from the bar. The appetizer was not on the bar menu, but we remembered it from the night before and they let us order it. The whole bill for all that was about $34.

We enjoyed the meal the night before, too. I had an eggplant curry that was tasty. My companion had ravioli with butternut squash and Gorgonzola cheese, and the other had the mushroom appetizer as her whole meal. All were very satisfying.

The place is small and dimly lit at night. We found it pleasant and the staff very nice. It was walking distance from our B&B, too.

“Best Eugene has to offer”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

I've lived in Eugene all my life, and my biggest regret is that I waited until now to try Cafe Soriah. We went for my wife's birthday, and had an amazing experience. Our server Nick was attentive, knowledable, and friendly. We had the added benefit of being seated near the outdoor grill where the owner was preparing food. He made recommendations and even prepared a special dish for us. Everything we ordered was superb, steaks, seafood and pasta. The menu has a wide range of flavors from Lebanese to northwest and everything in between.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

Although the food was good I had a bad experience. We visited in may with another couple . We were served by Jonathan . We were traveling with our daughters so we requested for high chair ; unfortunately they had one ; our friends had to go with booster seat . So certainly not kids friendly.now comes the surprise ; 18% gratuity was added to the bill.our daughters age 7 months & 14 months were counted to make party of 6 .
