I had the tri tip streak salad which was excellent and huge. My friends had the pulled pork sandwiches. One had the tofu salad sandwich. Everyone was well satisfied and eager to return. This is a unique place in the Eugene area and I have live here 44 years. Close to University of Oregon Campus and Downtown, located on major bus route and offers limited, but varied menu including beer and cocktails at popular prices.

The pulled pork sandwich we got was pretty darned good. A few chunks of fat which is hard if you are a person who doesn't like surprise textures in their food. My husband assures me that some people like the fat. Flavor on the sandwich was made better by a splash of extra BBQ sauce from the bottle on the table. The bacon potato salad was conspicuously devoid of bacon and pretty bland. Service was reminiscent of Dickie Jo's-friendly and fast. When we go back (yes, we will go back), we will probably give the ribs a go. Check 'em out if you like BBQ and are hungry…and like lumps of fat!

Not only is the barbecue truly outstanding, but they understand the needs of customers who need to eat gluten free! The gf buns they use are the best we have ever had--by a long shot! They were delicious on their own and held up perfectly first bite to last to the pulled pork my wife requested. The sauce that comes with the pork is excellent--so good in fact that we liked her sandwich just as much with and without the additional barbecue sauce they provided. Very nice portion--no skimping.

I had the tri tip sandwich and was immediately impressed with the generous portion of steak on the sandwich. The smoke flavor was so distinctive and flavorful that i opted to eat it without the barbecue sauce so the smoke flavor would dominate. This sandwich is a true winner! The meat is perfectly prepared-thin sliced and medium rare. And so smokey!!!!!

My wife is not a fan of cabbage, so we asked for her pulled pork to be served without coleslaw and placed in a separate container. This may be the most perfect slaw i have ever tasted. There is a tang to it that truly stands out and gives it a special uniqueness. The sandwiches were both delicious--the slaw i will order twice as sides when we go back and try the plate options.

Both sandwiches came with their "dusted" chips, made in house and served hot. The light barbecue flavor works well with the sandwiches, as do the pickle chips. Great flavor.

The decor of the restaurant is comfortable and fun. Very cool chairs at the tables--nice and comfortable! Beverages are bottomless and refilling is easy as the dispensers are in the dining area. Lots of choices. Most fun is the hand wash area near tableware/wrap to take home station. Very fun to have a place to wash hands in a barbecue house!

We will be back!

We ate often at the old West Brothers BBQs, in both of their previous locations. We always liked their food a lot. This time around, however, the food was sadly disappointing -- simply not close to the BBQ plates we ate often and enjoyed for years. My smallish portion of pulled pork was at least 50% lumps of fat rather than shreds of meat -- probably more like 65% fat. Their old side dish of pork-and-beans (which was a genuinely outstanding side dish in the old days) has been replaced by an inferior version -- closer to what is available in a can at the grocery store. And the cole slaw was quite literally awash in dressing -- the small shards of cabbage were actually floating. The portions were also very small, especially in comparison to what they used to offer for less money. We were really excited at the thought of the brothers old BBQ coming back, but this is not it. We are now really disappointed. I would actively dissuade people from eating here. It was quite bad.
