We had a great time watching the Civil War game between Oregon and Oregon State at Sweetwaters in the Valley River Inn. Our satellite provider was not going to show the game, and we called around town looking for a place to go so our whole family could sit together and enjoy the game. The sports bars around town don't allow minors, and we wanted to be with our 18 year old daughter. Chris, the manager at Sweetwaters, made our experience terrific. We met with her ahead of time and she showed us how she would set up a table for us (there were 11 of us) next to their bar where they had wide screen TVs. To our surprise, when we showed up for the game she had brought in an extra wide screen TV just for us so we could all see the game easily without having to look over to the bar! The menu was very nice and not too expensive, and the service was professional and friendly. We would highly recommend Sweetwaters for a beautiful meal on the river or for a fun game-watching event.

Holiday buffets are the very best in the area. Great food and variety. The staff is professional and attentive. You can not beat the river view, while the new decor creates an inviting atmosphere. Sweetwaters offers a welcome escape from the hectic holidays.

They are definitely understaffed. Staff was very pleasant but could use some help. Food was good but not inspiring to make it a destination stop. Prices were a bit elevated but standard for a hotel. WIne list was good but priced a little high by the bottle considering we were in a wine county.

Poor selection of food, often run out of items, not much for vegetarians, high prices and overrated. Also, very small selection of local beers. Beautiful location but even on a nice day, the patio has many open seats, there is a reason why.
