Description: Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

While staying at the hotel next door, we decided to try this restaurant for dinner. We wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner after a long day of driving. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise in Eugene. It was a bit pricey but worth it. We had our two small children with us and the restaurant was very accommodating. The food and service were very good. The wine list was good as well.

Went there for lunch.menu too small and items are expensive. Had salad nicoise..it was a sample of unmixed salad. Not worth the price. Had jardin drink..not good. Not going again. Checked the dinner menu before I left..almost same items..not recommended. Wine menu very limited.

If you enjoy fine cuisine and good wine, Marche is a great destination. Our party of three particularly enjoyed the wonderful fish offerings, halibut and salmon, well prepared and served in delicious sauces. The drink and wine list were interesting and the dessert selections made it hard to choose. Profiteroles proved irresistible.

We were staying at the Inn next door and walked over to be quickly seated. in an almost jam packed restaurant.

Wait staff: professional, attentive yet not intrusive.
Hand crafted Cocktails: Great fun- tried four- Wild West my favorite
Food: Based on what is fresh locally. Lamb was divine. Wife loved the pork dish and would not share. Fritto appetizer was purrrrrrrrfect says the cool cat.
Decor: pleasing to the eye, seating comfortable

Will go again

Don't miss it. Lovely outdoor patio. Fresh oysters melted in your mouth. Perfect with a Sancerre half bottle, and the simple, small grilled squash salad. Staff kind and friendly. Perfect table available without reservation. Everyone looked as though, they too, we're enjoying the long summer light at Marche. Cant think of anything to improve.
